This is another explanation of your situation i.e. Your chart suggests someone who is predisposed to sudden upheavals(8th house rulers) when it comes to health (aspecting 1st house ruler of health).
What's also telling is that Saturn(ruling house 6 of health) is conj your Sun(1st house ruler) and Jup/ Nep (8th house rulers) albeit the latter being a wide aspect.
So whenever i see 1st and 6th house mix, i think that health issues(6th) are a prominent feature in the natal chart holders life(1st).
And when 6th and 8th house are mixed, the upheavals(8th)may center around health issues(6th)-as is the case here.
The trigger in terms of transits for me was that Mars Libra that just formed a conjunction aspect to your natal Ic 8♎(reiterating that natal solar Arc progression of Ic to shocking Natal Uranus underlined initially).

My thinking is that it is related to love, relationships /collaboration and creativity.

2. I’m curious about how differently I’m handling this surgery. When Pluto transited my 6th house, I was diagnosed with a chronic health condition and I isolated and restricted myself. This time I’m reaching out to everyone and actively asking for support.
The Aqua Dsc is about "community". And Pluto transit to Aqua would be awakening that.
Fire sign Asc like to be independent of others. But with Plu now in Aqua, the outcome will be that people are not as easily dispensable as they once were.
For your Leo Asc, the Plu aspect to Asc and later to Venus will highlight the importance of collaboration and including others in your plans.
As Plu gets closer to your Venus in opposition, I suspect that an important partnership/s will show itself up to you.
They may influence your inner strength and will to fight for you life (3rd house) as well as impact the changes you make in terms of what you prioritize in your life direction (10th Tau) in some way.
3. I feel very strong in myself and friends and family are shocked that I’m handling it so well. Of course I’m fearful and worried but I’m not letting it take control.
I think that this could be the natal Saturn conjunction to Mercury/Sun and Jupiter.
There could even be some spiritual awareness(Neptune widely square Saturn/Jup) that something else it at play here .Not just the physical manifestations of the illness( and this is based off of the 1st question you pose).
There is no blame , no " woe is me", no " I hate God" etc. Just acceptance. And that takes a certain level of inner faith and faith.
That Jupiter transit of Cancer in your 12th would heighten your awareness with all things spiritual during this time of isolation( post surgery).
As Saturn/Neptune get permanently stationed in house 9 ♈, issues of Faith, belief, Higher power etc. Will become more pertinent.

Wow, Aries23 that is quite the interpretation! I thank you from the bottom of my heart (no pun intended - sorry couldn’t help myself!) for the amount of work you’ve put into this.
I’ve had to read this a few times to understand as you are much more advanced in your understanding of astrology than I am and the bits around arcs had me confused.
However, It’s quite amazing actually, in answering my questions, you’ve picked up on quite a few of the lessons and experiences that have already happened in the past two years. I didn’t include the information in my original question because I didn’t want to put anyone off by starting off with a massive wall of text (as it usually puts me off)
Roughly three years ago when Pluto started its transit towards my DC for the first time I ended an emotionally abusive relationship, which had been lingering due to his poor health so I was in the strange situation of recovering while from it while he was in hospital. It’s also around the time that I began to teach myself astrology.
As I recovered emotionally and physically from this relationship I began to feel more and more empowered and had a clear understanding of why I had allowed the toxic relationship to go on for so long. It was about a year after this that I bumped into a friend who I’d known through a social circle and had been attracted to the first time we met 9 years before, but he had been in a relationship at the time. He is now my parter and we’ve been together nearly two years. All of our angles conjunct within less than a degree and his moon conjuncts my NN, his Pluto also sits on my IC. We met when Pluto was conjunct both our mutual DC in Aqua. I have never experienced such quick and positive transformation through was is a very loving and healing relationship. I would describe it as a conscious partnership which is accepting, appreciating and open. Our communication is incredible. He has also experienced deep healing.
Our composite Jupiter, Sun and Venus conjunction are all in Cancer in the 12th house and Jupiter has been pinging the whole set while I’ve been given this news. He’s been incredible throughout and his Venus conjunct Saturn in the 12th house has been shining, as you can imagine!
So, in short I have already met the person who is the important partner. My confidence has increased massively, I’m doing things I never thought I could do, and I feel like I am becoming the person who I am meant to be. The person who was yanked away when my Dad died suddenly of a heart attack (as a result of what we think was sarcoidosis) when I was 6 and he was 35. He also had a Leo moon btw.
I’m learning that who I am, my wisdom and way of being are not only “enough” but are also a beacon of light to others.
Yes, you are right, I have been predisposed to health crisis and so has my Mum (and my Dad all though it was just the one that ended his life). You wouldn’t believe it if I told you how much my family has been through! My Mum and I have a joke - that she takes a licking and keeps on ticking. She’s had three different types of cancer, but she recovers every time.
My faith in life has increased massively since I met my partner and I think it’s because he’s been teaching me to let go and enjoy it, something which I’ve always struggled to do.
So, I still find it strange, amongst all of this healing and love and enjoyment and expansion I’m having heart surgery. It almost seems like the universe is saying “well it seems you’ve learned some new skills, now I’m going to put you to the test so that you can really use them!”
But as you said, transiting Neptune and Saturn have been in opposition to my Virgo stellium, which has caused a lot of confusion and Pluto square my Scorpio moon and Mars is like transformational double whammy focused on letting go of control. (Which is another lesson I’ve been learning through my relationship).
So, what I’m saying is that: I’m already there! Quite often the heavy hitting transits cause turmoil in my life. So it’s strange to not be affected by it in the same way and I wonder what more transformation I can do!? ;-D
