What do you think about these placements? Have you known people with them?

Is it expected to dominate all other placements; since Mars is associated with Aries and the 1st House is the original "house" of Aries, ruled by Mars? Or would it depend on the entire context of the particular natal chart?

I have this placement, but I might as well have an Aries Mars because I'm very direct, straightforward, slightly aggressive, athletic, and quite "masculine" for a girl. Not to mention, health, fitness, bodybuilding and lifting weights is my LIFE. The gym is my second home away from home.

Cancer Ascendant
2nd House Leo Sun
3rd House Leo Mercury
6th House Sagittarius Moon
1st House Cancer Venus
1st House Cancer Mars

Not a fan of this placement. Actually i`m not a huge fan of 1st house placements. In my experience can be very self-centered and at worst can produce a very Narcissistic individual. I think 1st housers need to be careful about not becoming so selfish and putting too much focus on themselves. Even Mars in the 12th house conjunct the Ascendant though a bit more discreetly have this tendency to become a bit self-centered. Everything you wrote too is also true they can be very physically active people with an unmatched energy. I`m impressed by their athleticism too and the best Athletic people are often Mars/Aries/Fire dominant people.

I have Mars in the 1st house. I need my exercise, or I get anxious!

But my Mars in the 1st house is square Saturn. I almost had no sense of self, as a child, to the point of mental illness. Life limited (Saturn) my sense of self (1st house). As I get older (Saturn), my sense of self (1st house) gets more solid.

So, I didn't even have a sense of self.....to be selfish with (hehe). Also I have my descendant conjunct my South Node, so I can be too selfless, sometimes.

It is a very powerful placement, which gives you a lot of drive and your body can take a lot of physical stress, more stress than the rest of us can take.

Case in point: Donald Trump has this placement in fiery, flamboyant Leo. Everything about him is flamboyant and he can stay up working very late and needs very little sleep because he is driven by his Mars.

Careful with this placement though, as many people will feel threatened by you, and it can create a lot of enemies. So try not to throw your weight aroudn too much and try to be more considerate of others' feelings. But since your Mars is in Cancer, it will not come out as dominant and aggressive because it is in its fall or detriment.

Redness in skin/face or roots in the hair, accident prone, may get surgery on the body a lot in life as Mars rules knives and when in 1st house , its knives or sharp objects on the body(1st).

There is a tendency to fight verbally and/or physically with others because of coming across offensive / speaking one's mind ( not the the type to be aware that they are being offensive and sometimes not even caring that they are).

Assertion is important, a straight shooter/doesn't mince word, likes to win and very competitive, visually stimulated, prone to headaches or head issues(bumps head a lot) or can be called "head strong" and may even walk with head pointing forward as if " leading" the body.

Blood related issues, head injuries, sinus issues, can have poor eyesight, body heats up easily or gets aggravated quickly, sparse hair, can use profanities to express discontent a lot, impatient with others and can thus go through a lot of relationship breakups/separations.

Unless there are various other more social planets in the chart to mitigate the sharpness of Mars energy, they are typically not the easiest people to get on with. People can loathe them one minute but also respect them for being unafraid to do what others avoid the next.

Very good analysis of Mars conjunct Ascendant, from a medical astrology's perspective.

ETA: Someone I know had successful surgery of the sinuses when transit Mars went over his ascendant.
