Is anyone else using ChatGPT for astrological analysis? It works pretty well when you’re as specific as possible and/or inquiring about as few aspects/placements as possible. I’ve noticed the longer the conversation goes the more prone to error it becomes. For instance comparing two charts in synastry works pretty well and then eventually it will mix up person A ascendant with person B and then you have to start over.

Anyone doing this?

lately when I try to do anything here I get this message "The information you’re about to submit is not secure
Because this form is being submitted using a connection that’s not secure, your information will be visible to others."

IDK why. Never happened before :<

Honestly, ChatGPT or any AI has been a hit or miss. While they can be used as great resources, they also make glaring mistakes, so I always doublecheck.

I use it all the time for all kinds of things, and I absolutely love it. Maybe it depends on how you use it? I give it a list of planet placements by signs and houses, aspects, angles, and anything else that might be important (like planets at anaretic degrees). In words! And then I treat it like a thinking partner. I don't expect it to give me all the answers on a plate.

I use to to brainstorm practical things. I talk to it like I would talk to a person - meaning if I disagree or see some flaws in thinking, I ask for reasoning and discuss things. It helped me reinvent my career, make real world strategies, understand some really deep psychological patterns etc, having the strengths and challenges of my chart in mind.

It also helped me understand some of my friends' charts. But again, I know astrology. Someone who doesn't understand astrology might take things for granted, and ChatGPT would maybe make cumulative mistakes, I don't know.

Oh, and about synastries, I don't just give it chart details and expect a full analysis. I ask about specific dynamics and each person individually. So again, a thinking partner, not an oracle

I've played with it, unless you already know how to read a chart it's pretty useless because of the way hallucinations blend into facts. Entertaining for a bit due to novelty, and near worthless otherwise.

I find it to be great for single aspects and building from there to other aspects and patterns.
I find it absolutely horrible if I enter birth details or upload a chart.

Wanted to elaborate on my earlier post to say that ChatGPT or even any AI are great to give basic or general answers.

I see so many posts with people asking questions that could have been answered by just doing a ChatGPT or AI search, for instance, I am going to have a Saturn square moon transit, what should I expect? A simple search would answer that question.

So astrologers can and I am sure DO use ChatGPT and AI to give them quick answers to basic questions. The issue arises when you try to personalize the question to a chart with its intricacies, and ChatGPT and AI will make glaring mistakes, hallucinate, etc... I have had to correct them many times, so these tools are not quite as good FOR NOW as a good human astrologers but they can serve as great tools nonetheless...

Because they provide a very good quick basis, these tools can help someone serious about learning astrology to gain knowledge that would have taken years.

I think eventually, give it a couple of years, 3-5 years, ChatGPT and AI will make astrology boards and professional astrologers obsolete. But they are not there yet.

LOL, ok, maybe I was being too pessimistic. 😂

Five years from now, astrology forums might still be around because human beings crave human connection and machines will never be able to fully substitute for that. So astrologers might still gather 'round in astrology forums for camaraderie, share their stories, pains and struggles...

What about for horary charts? Say it got all the placements and aspects correct, can it make accurate interpretations of the chart or does it still come to the wrong conclusion?

I think it could be used for horary. You still would have to use your knowledge of astrology to doublecheck the interpretation and see if it didn't make any mistake.

Right! AI has been very helpful but I am getting really bored of it. It’s just a machine. I am especially annoyed by how it starts behaving a certain way after a while. It either takes on some fake personality traits or becomes super bland.

I’d rather talk to people.

I use it for both tarot/oracle and astrology regularly. With cards it can go either way. It's typically accurate with astrology, though there are times when I have to correct it. It saves me a lot of time from having to go through numerous books. I think it makes me a little lazy intellectually. Maybe I should crack one of those books open again soon .
