In 11 days I leave for my first ever backpacking trip. I'm going solo ..and I'm SO STOKED!! I will land in Nicaragua and spend some time there..then on to Costa Rica and Panama, leaving from Panama City. I'll be gone til June 25th.

I just wanted to post about this cuz i'm so excited! I've never travelled alone but I'm hoping this will be a life-changing experience in which I will gain a lot of independence, confidence, and experience in who-knows-what

Sounds dangerous...
Hopefully you've researched the heck out of the land, people and possible experiences you are going to come across.

I don't think I can ever travel alone like that and I DID move across the world to a foreign country all by myself...

You are very brave!

Yeah, I know to be safe. I have done about as much reading as I can on the topic and have talked to MANY backpackers who have done the same thing. My aunt lives in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua so I will at least see someone I know for a little bit and the point of staying in hostels is to find other travellers to travel with!
