I didn't find myself very neutral there. That's my favorite place I've ever been to. It's absolutely beautiful. I liked the friendliness of the people, the cleanliness, the scenery, the european sense of style. It was great. Even camping in a canyon-like valley during a thunderstorm there was cool.

I don't know if there was any one thing I'd recommend you see. If you go to Lucerne, then I'd recommend taking the trip up across the lake, and up into the Alps as on an uncloudy day the view is probably tremendous (we went on a cloudy day, which was still alright). Otherwise, I'd say you should be good anywhere on foot. Just explore, and realize the low key practicality of the swatch-makers and the army knife makers.

I don't know anything about Vienna and Prague. I'm very jealous of your going on this trip, though. I need to travel again soon.

Hey Blue Roamer!

I've missed you! I was wondering where you were. Don't let my enthusiasm creep you out.

I have no idea what you should do in Switzerland. I just wanted to say, "hello" and hijacked this thread to do so.

So, HELLO.

Unmoved.

yodel!! just kidding, but if you do you'll see one of the amazing features of the mountains....switzerland IS gorgeous. one of the few places on earth that is even better than the postcards, especially the alpes!! small villages in valleys in the mountains, out of this world (or the sound of music, even today!) geneva is a great city, but i don't know anything bout the others. if you're planning vienna/prague couldn't tell you which is more interesting, but you can drive down the alps which in itself is pretty breathtaking, and

why not take a boat down the danube? both cities are on it and it's not only historic but often beautiful...you can take it from munich to vienna and prague, and that's only the half of it...

and stop in regensburg(between munich and prague), which has by a fluke preserved the 2000 yr old centre of town (didn't get destroyed in the war, amazing in itself) and the home of thurm und taxis, one of the more modern "royal" families with a pretty impressive home in the middle of a park in the middle of town...

course don't know how much money you have, but i've heard the danube is a great way to see the area. there may also be a train that runs along the river, and german trains are nothing if not comfortable and well-run! and hope you like beer, because they love their festivals!!

Hey BlueRoamer,

OK, in Switzerland go to the Charlie Chaplin museum, his home is in Vevey, Switzerland. Charlie was THE MAN!!!!

If you don't know anything about his life other than the fact that he was the first international celebrity, actor, producer, director; you'll be surprised by his political activism, his life story before he came to the U.S., etc. They might even let you play tennis on his tennis court.

Then go to Vienna and check out THE REAL Mozart story. The dude was a musical genius and a real live pain in the a$$! In a fun way. That's my 2 cents.

You must see the cheese on a raclette in Switzerland. You must see it bubbling. Half a wheel of cheese all for you. You must imagine the jealousy in my face as you are doing it.

Prague is cheaper than Vienna. Awesome beer.
Go to Prague, then you can gaze in wonder at the astronomical clock at the town hall, whilst drinking beer and thinking about the amazing raclette you had in Switzerland.

You should go to Lithuania then Koi. Then men look like potatoes and the women look like supermodels. It'd be like shooting rats in a barrel.

Blue Roamer...

I lived in Switzerland.. Geneva... and traveled a good deal around Europe... I have a few questions to ask, prior to assisting you best:
1. what time of year will you be going... different events at different times...
2. what kind of adventures do you like...
eating (I would do the raclette mentioned above and also lake perch in Geneva), listing to jazz (they have international jazz festivals at the end of Lake Geneva), incredible fireworks (on the lake of Geneva), art, etc?
3. what's your budget?
I'll pop back in here to see your answers...
