It pains me sometimes that I will never get to meet you all, however, writing is my best medium so perhaps it's just so, and perfect as it is. However last night when I was sitting on the lav I started thinking about people on here and if I could meet them, where would I want to go?

I'm going to start a list but I will be adding to it because I probably will not have time to do the whole thing right now.

People connect with other people on here for a whole load of reasons, and it would be cool to see your list too.

Blue Moon - with Blue Moon I would like to sit somewhere where we could people-watch for a bit over a pint of something, talk about books, then go to a PJ Harvey concert.

Glaucus - with Glaucus I would like to go and sit out in the desert somewhere in America. We'd have a camp fire and talk about anything, quietly. I would feel safe with Glaucus, and we would listen to the scritchy-scratchy desert sounds and feel how big the sky is.

Valus - I would go to a 4 day festival with Valus. A real British music festival with added random events and cider, and have some good old bonkers Aquarian fun, probably with a random man named Dave. While we're recovering from the rigours of the night before we'll have a rant about things we agree on, whilst eating falafels. We would probably buy some amazing costumes and/or stilts.

Zala - with Zala I'd like to go on a hike in Washington State, somewhere dripping and green. We'd look at plants and wig out at their beauty and enjoy the stomp. We'd have a killer stir-fry at some beautifully-lit quiet but quirky restaurant in Seattle and realise it's 4am already, and where the heck did the time go?

MVM - I'd would quite like to go to the South of France with MVM on a gastrotour. Sample the finest foods and wines and hang out in St Tropez where she would stop traffic with her gorgeousness. Posh hotel with perfumes and sunken baths. We'd ring each other from our rooms and squeak a lot about how posh it is.

Yin - I'd like Yin and I to meet in Barcelona where we'd go to the Miro museum, then swimming at the beach. It would be hot. We'd have a picnic, then fly to Prague and go to the opera. We would both cry and neither of us would be embarrassed.

Aerialcircus - well, I'd just like to go to an aerial circus, somewhere in China. Then we'd go to a temple, meet the monks and chill out lying on some teak flooring and listen to the bells.

Katatonic - We'd meet in London and you'd show me around. We'd go to Brixton Academy and listen to something punky and dance like nutters. Afterwards a mug of tea somewhere vaguely seedy but full of nice punks that look scary but aren't.

Acoustic God - stand up comedy of some sort, in my home town. Then you'd meet my Cappie friend Al, whom you would become best friends with. We'd all get a bag of greasy chips in Caroline Street and crash out watching a good Mafia film. Either that or Argentinian Tango, somewhere like a beautiful Caribbean island resort, on a terrace. You would be masterful at it and be wearing a very expensive suit. Me, I'm in a green dress like that bird out of the film Atonement.

Peace Angel - Some sort of live sports event. I don't know why I say this Peace Angel but I reckon 4 day test match cricket in Sydney would be a riot, plus there would be men to ogle. Plus beer. You'd tell me my dead cat was there the whole time sitting on my lap and that would be ok by me. We heckle the referee.

Downtomars - Autumn shopping in NYC with Downtomars. Lots of breaks for coffee in lovely delis. We'd have lackeys carrying our bags for us, hunky ones that are a bit chopsy, so we would be enencumbered while we are rummaging. There would be gut-laughs and I would get a really compassionate restyling. There would be no "That doesn't suit you AT ALL, Wheels" it would be "You'd look GREAT in THIS" which I would then buy in 10 colours on her recommendation.

Cpn Edgar Winner - Las Vegas. We would have a go on the slots, check out an exclusive casino. We'd be dressed to kill with the shoes and hair to match. Then we'd go and see some male strippers and be up all night drinking shots, telling each other filthy jokes and cackling like animals.

GypseeWind - Italy. We'd hire a Ferarri, put the top down and drive down the Amalfi coast. We'd be wearing headscarves and it'd be all Thelma and Louise. We'd go and see where your ancestors came from and we'd get our cheeks pinched (by old ladies).

Leapinglemur - I would like to cook for you at my place in the woods, when I get one, which I will, and hang out in our pyjamas putting the world to rights and listening to your stories. And go for breakfast at the beach.

T - we'd go to a thrift market in Thailand and buy eclectic beautiful things. We would hang out with the stray dogs and chat to street artists.

Mystic Melody - a camper van tour around Scandinavia, check out the Northern Lights and hang out in a cosmopolitan bar in Helsinki or Oslo drinking cocktails and playing pool.

Unmoved - I'd come to South Africa, meet all your friends, get on with them like a house on fire. You'd disappear to rehearsal and later we'd all watch you sing at a little place underground where the acoustics are good.

More later, this has turned into a sort of "Wish thread" of its own!

Koiflower - we would go and learn burlesque dancing with a bunch of other women, and get burlesque names like Fifi Nipplewringer and Katya L'Amour.

Pire - I would like to do conservation work with you on Galapagos, such as helping out the turtles and then in the evenings we would hang out with all the other volunteers and do some midnight canoeing. You would teach me French and I'd tell you about all the times I'd been to France (7!) and how much I love it.

Love this thread wheels.

4 days, men in white, men to ogle, a zillion things to talk about? I'm in.

Oh, I want to add to this, but need to think about it - some time that's not so close to midnight.

And, by the way, the cat sits on your side, where you place your hand next to you.

EDIT: I sat there reading this and just laughed all the way. Sometimes because it was so astute in reflections of the people and others because you're so brilliant in the way you think, wheels.

meta_4 - a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show where the audience dresses up and participates while the movie plays. If there was a Maid In Manhattan version, I would have said that.

Weird, because before I even got to my name mention I thought ... let's just go down the pub. Witty and intellectual conversation not obligatory.

Okay, Wheels, I'de go to Italy with you, actually I'de go anywhere with you. I can take you to where my ancestors are from, because I've already lived there, I must warn you though, in Italy it isn't the old women doing the pinching, and it isn't on the cheeks your were referring to...

Sounds even better now....I'm so in!

Missy Wheels, I'm in!! I'd love to show you around gorgeous Washington State (fog, incessant rain, much like Wales, methinks, except for the moss ), however oceans are obligatory, so after we Do The Puyallup, we are leaving on a plane for Hawaii!! We'll prowl around Maui (you'll get your bumper sticker that says "I Survived the Hana Highway!") and the Big Island (volcano-tramping to see a silversword upclose'n'personal, and lava-walks), and tread carefully on Kauai watching out for people who get violently disturbed if you get too close to their farming operations

Let's see, mine are going to be random, and in no specific order of affection...

Downtomars; I would totally go with to an all day concert, like Ozzfest or something like that. Or we could take in one of those marathon film festivals, and walk Hollywood boulevard looking at the stars from our favorite films...

CPN; I would like to do something musical with you. I probably will come see you play some day, but something else...something creative. Maybe we could sit and write lyrics together, have some wine and tell Bob stories........

Be back later....

AG,Kat, Me and scorpionic web will bring our acoustic guitars and play around the campfire late into the night, or till the sun rises..i will bring some congo's so someone can keep a beat...mel, i expect you to remember the words we all forget... and play every song everybody knows...they we will eat fresh fruit and tiger shrimp and then crash hard till the hot sun becons us all back to the beach...to lay around, turn brown and remind each other roll over every so often...

jhwops, you can fish and we that eat fish can have that for dinner. i might go fishing with ya. i'll slip out back with kmots and ORBM for some steamy island sex (yes both,....its a fantasy ok) and the islands is all ours... ok...you guys get the picture....

Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
Bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama
Key largo, montego baby why dont we go
Jamaica

Off the florida keys
Theres a place called kokomo
Thats where you wanna go to get away from it all

Bodies in the sand
Tropical drink melting in your hand
Well be falling in love
To the rhythm of a steel drum band
Down in kokomo

Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama
Key largo, montego baby why dont we go

Ooo I wanna take you down to kokomo
Well get there fast
And then well take it slow
Thats where we wanna go
Way down to kokomo

To martinique, that monserrat mystique

Well put out to sea
And well perfect our chemistry
By and by well defy a little bit of gravity

Afternoon delight
Cocktails and moonlit nights
That dreamy look in your eye
Give me a tropical contact high
Way down in kokomo

Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama
Key largo, montego baby why dont we go

Ooo I wanna take you down to kokomo
Well get there fast
And then well take it slow
Thats where we wanna go
Way down to kokomo

Port au prince I wanna catch a glimpse

Everybody knows
A little place like kokomo
Now if you wanna go
And get away from it all
Go down to kokomo

Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama
Key largo, montego baby why dont we go

Ooo I wanna take you down to kokomo
Well get there fast
And then well take it slow
Thats where we wanna go
Way down to kokomo

Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama

Another awesome thread!! I just came home, and I am tired because tonight would have been an excellent night for your visit wheels. Great crowd, my fingers are still sore from playing longer than planned due to encores!! Yep!!

And, my peeps were so kind tonight, because as I was playing my extended set, the cab driver came to fetch me as it was late at night. The peeps called the driver in and almost got him drunk, but fortunately, he didn't accept their offer.

Then there was this Mozambiquean classical guitarist who started jamming with me. It was quite a night. Fun! And, I wish you were here Wheels

PeaceAngel- NYC. We'd get all dolled up and go to a club. Something odd and spunky. Maybe a gay club, where we'd tell everyone we were drag queens and do a dead-on rendition of "Mama Mia" Priscilla-Queen-of-the-Desert-style.

Blue Moon- The Scottish Countryside. We'd walk along the hills and discuss life. Share philosophies. Debate. Share stories; anecdotes. Or just walk in comfortable silence. She'd spread her wisdom and wit into my psyche, and i'd remind her too much of herself.

DD- Denmark. Riding bicycles around the cities, towns, and in-between. Of course we would gush about boys, and gossip about our Plutonian, girlish fantasies. Knowing us, we'd probably be unconsciously trying to go faster than one another. Always some slight competing!

Koi- A Tibetan Monastary. We would dress in plain robes, chant, eat nothing but rice, meditate, and never speak a word to one another. But our souls would expand, and become greater than our bodies- we'd have an out-of-body dance party.

CPN- Woodstock. We'd ride around in our VW van, with our long straight hair in perfect hippie braids, and awesome bell-bottoms. We'd dance like willow branches in the grass, take hits of acid and LSD, kiss completely beautiful strangers, and dream of Utopia.

meta, acid *is* LSD and vice-versa
You and CPN could drive across the country in the VeeWee to Seattle and hang with me and wheels and we can all sneak into Discovery Park, eat some good windowpane and sit on the bluffs all night, looking at the city lights, the boats on the Sound, and the stars (and planets and other universes -- hey we're on acid, remember ), and carve the Blue Oyster Cult symbol into the cliffs

(that's a fun memory from my past )

Wheels,

I knew there was a reason to join a dancing class. I haven't done it yet, but it's on my list, my short list, and I probably will be masterful.

CPN,

I'll bring my Cajon. I'm sure there are plenty among us that can keep a beat. I'll bring my bass and keyboard, too, just in case. I'll learn some more John Lennon and Bob Marley tunes.

______________________________

I can't believe Wheels came up with all of that at once! Goodness! I want to do the Valus one, too. Surely a British festival concert has got to beat American ones, and who doesn't love stilts?

Yin;

Totally, we would have a pajama party. I will make you your frothy blender drink of choice. We will put on our fave jammies. We can drink and talk all night. After we've had a few, you can make fun of my accent and I'll try to impersonate yours, at which time we will fall onto the bed in fits of giggles. We will talk untill our voices go hoarse, which would be around, oh, 7 or 8am, and then flop over in exhaustion and fall asleep. Then wake up and start over....

Anyone up for a Gothic or 16th./17th.century style costume masked ball/masquerade?
It would be in my deeply forested estate and take place in a lodge created from dozens of 18th. and 19th. real stone mausoleums dismantled and then strung together. Costumes would be supplied for those who do not come prepared.
Vampires welcome.
