Currently Sydney is enveloped in a massive dust storm that has been making it's way across the country. It is eerie to say the least. I can't get the smell of dirt out of my nose despite having a shower. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sunriseweather/2991688116/ IP: Logged |

Hi GWNo, I haven't been through something like this before. I'm watching a news program at the moment & people have submitted their photo's from across the country. The shots are amazing. IP: Logged |

Here are some pics of the dust storm in Sydney. If you look closely you can just make out the Sydney Harbour Bridge. IP: Logged |

Hi everyone. You will be happy to know that as of yesterday afternoon (for me) the dust had been carried off by that very strong breeze. It's now arrived in QLD. A friend of mine lives up there, so I'll give her a call today & see how she's coping. IP: Logged |

Cool!I smelled rain in my house even with the windows shut, and then it rained. Kind of the yin to your yang. Your's is better... PS -- I thought australia was not very dry. Am I wrong? I know it's pretty darn big. IP: Logged |

Hi Diana I know it can seem & in most cases it's true that we are a dry country but that can't be said for the coastal areas where most of us live. As far as I'm aware, the dust came from inland where it's very dry. I tend to agree with that due to the colour of it.
