On Saturday I have my first individual EFT session that will last an hour for $5 because I am a college student.I have decided I can no longer live a life of anger, depression and regret. At 18 years of age, I have been severly depressed for seven years if not longer due to childhood truamas that should I have been long gone or taken care of. I have done therapy, group therapy, medication sometime in highschool I stopped all three because I felt emotionally damaged by them. I felt the therapist did not truely care for my well being and medication left me feeling scarred inside. I pent up a lot of things inside myself because I do not want to be a burden on others I care about, I also do not like to being a seen as a victim or helpless in my mind I feel I have the strength to get over this eventually and that is what I am doing. I recently found out about EFT over the summer through my Leo friend, who told me that maybe I need to find a "meet up" group with people who share similiar stories or interests with me. I have always had an interest in holistic practices but never persued any because of people around me claiming that they were "hoaxes" and generally have a "Placeebo" effect. I actually went to an EFT meet up, exspecting nothing from it but I had an open mind. The EFT Practitioner allowed us to try EFT on ourselves. Which is a session of tapping on key body points and focusing on an "issue" in your mind that you wish to relieve. You usaully address the level of emotions you get from this issue, usually through 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest..or it can go higher depending on how much emotion you have attatced to the issue. My first issue I ever tapped on was the stress I had over college, I said that issue of it was about a (9). She started guiding me through my tapping telling me to say, "Im stressed about college..", I can't fully remember how it all went but I know she ending the session with "..Even though I have this issue..I love myself". After I was done tapping, I could feel the pain in my back subduing, I stress out so much that I have major back pain and head aches.X__X I wish to continue EFT but I wonder if I am being scammed at times because it sounds too good to be true. I did joined a EFT group on facebook and read some threads but I am still unsure. So I decided to post here to LL because you guys seem wise on these subjects, more so then me because this is first holistic practice I have done. I didn't know if I could post here in Central or Healing X_X I get confused but if it is to be removed and sent there I will understand. I am into EFT and have had positive results from using/doing it. What are you unsure about? The best gauge if you should continue doing something is: is it working for you or not? Does it give you relief? Does it make you feel better? Always focus on the result/outcome. So whatever people around you says, ultimately, it's you who decides whether to go for it or not. Btw, I don't understand why people think that "placebo" is bad.IP: Logged |

$5/hour session doesn't sound much like a scam, especially since after a few sessions you should be able to work it out on your own...sounds like so far so good?IP: Logged |

Thanks for the replies, so far I enjoy it and now I am moving on trying it on myself with guidance from my EFT practitioner. We worked on some of the trauma of my childhood and I feel chunks of it leaving my body, because I have less tension in my shoulders and lower back now. I feel I will continue using EFT.^_^ Also, I would like for one of the Mods to move this thread to the "Healing" section of LL, so my thread will not bother or bumped down any of the important LLC2 threads. Thank you<3 IP: Logged |

No, EFT is NOT a scam - it's legit! I came across it back in 2007 when I was dealing with childhood and mother issues. It's been a while since I have used it. I did download and print off the manual and attempted to incorporate EFT ideas at work. I still rec newsletters....EFT is widely recommended, where I live. IP: Logged |

Best wishes to you that EFT helps. I haven't tried it, but a friend did and it worked wonders for her. Actually, I have a lot of stress in my life at the moment and am going to look into doing it as well. IP: Logged |

I've tried EFT in the past, but only a few times, and I don't think I did it properly. I think I need to get a tattoo on my hand to remind me, because this is the one thing I forget to try, and I keep hearing of others having positive results with it. quote: Also, I would like for one of the Mods to move this thread to the "Healing" section of LL, so my thread will not bother or bumped down any of the important LLC2 threads.
Maybe a moderator can take care of this for Cheshire Kat. IP: Logged |
