... i actually have a passage in my essay that goes something like, "I’ve actually only really became interested in Scotland in the past few years, through watching films like Trainspotting, and Braveheart, and The Last King of Scotland. Also discovering actors like Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, James McAvoy, Gerard Butler, and Kevin McKidd. Let me tell you something, I think Scotland’s best kept secret is their male population. No wonder! If they all look and act like the fellows I’ve mentioned I’d want to keep them a secret too! But I’m on a manhunt.".. my professor thinks this makes me sound like the only reason i want to go to Scotland is to "find a man". No, never... IP: Logged |

Sounds perfect! Actually BM, do you know if the Highland Games only take place during summer? Because i'd love to go see that, but i was told it's a summer thing and that i'll be back in the states by then? IP: Logged |

*Seriousness alert*Scottish custom -> the Gaelic Storytelling tradition. It's influence on modern Scottish Culture, etc. The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Now name me 10 of the following that have influenced you as an artist:- Piece of literature Poem Stageplay or film script Performance on stage Performance on film Actor/actress Pick from any of the categories in any numerical combination, i.e ten actors is acceptable. However, they must be from the Scottish tradition and/or in material with a Scottish content and you must be able to say why you find them influential. From Toby's family album:-

Great news Meta - congrats.Your quite close to Cambridge and that's a lovely city, as is Oxford for that matter. Cornwall is lovely in the summer. Scotland definitely worth an extended visit - it's so diverse it's difficult to do it justice. But having said that it's further away than France or say, Amsterdam, from East Anglia - and that would be quite a lot of fun . Oh - it will be a blast!
