Has anyone seen this movie?------------------ "I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." -C.S. Lewis IP: Logged |

Nope.Looks good though from what I've seen. Eric Bana is good value & I'm yet to see him in a dud movie. IP: Logged |

I highly recommend it. It bumped my all-time number one movie to second place (The Notebook).------------------ "I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." -C.S. Lewis IP: Logged |

Oh nooooooooo. Don't tell me that! That good??? Damn! I really want to see this one. I've been curious since they started advertising it about a month ago. It's just opening here. Alas! Our local cinema hasn't re-opened yet (refurbishing). Closest cinema is 100km away in another town and I'd only do that for the kids. Will have to wait for DVD release! Worth the wait then.***blocks ears*** Continue with your talk about how good it is..... EDIT: Never one to miss an opportunity. You suck! ***ducks for cover*** IP: Logged |

I was standing a long time before the bookshelf in my local bookstore, pondering if I should buy it. Seems I better should have.Hmm, or just watching the film. Good idea, too. So there are 4 films on my "to-watch-list" now. IP: Logged |

Just saw Men Who Stare At Goats. It mocks a lot of what we talk about in Lindaland, but at the same time validates much of it. Lots of hidden gems of wisdom (star signs).------------------ "I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." -C.S. I loved it! And, actually post it about it in UC: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/003851.html I love Rachel MacAdams and Eric Bana's performance... Rachel's performance was also good in The Notebook, but sorry, I did not like the film. The ending is so no likely to ever happen... hardly nobody dies together like that; they killed I think. And I did not like Ryan in that film... he is much better suited in Stay, Murder by Numbers and Fracture IP: Logged |

I loved how every time she saw him, he was at a different age, and she never knew if it was the guy that loved and knew her as well. And how he was always naked & clueless every time he was tossed through time...that was exciting and gut wrenching and never lost it's weirdness for me. I liked that. When she met him for real, he didn't even know her. Most of their history took place before he actually met her chronologially. See, he was a time traveller and he knew her since she was six. But she didn't meet him for real until he was 28-ish? And she met him when he was at an age that he didn't know her yet, so she seemed too forward & freindly to him. But they had been freinds for years to her. Yeah weird. But cool too, and super romanticIP: Logged |

I like to think that her being upset at his long periods of absence are now regrets when he passes away, because she longs for those trips to get to see him again. Does that make sense?------------------ "I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." -C.S. Randall, Indeed, what you wrote makes sense! And the ending is so beautiful--A reminder that our soul is Eternal. Yes, there's a sense of longing for what is left behind, yet dreaming ahead!

I read the book a few years ago, and loved it. I've avoided the movie, so far, because I usually regret seeing the movie version of a book I've read. I'll check it out when it's on DVD, though.IP: Logged |

I have finally watched "The Time Traveler's Wife".My partner read the book and raved about it. Apparently, the movie is loyal to the book. What a movie!!!! Brilliant!! What a brilliant author!!!! All those absences do pay off. She has the hope of seeing him past his death time. There had to be a bonus to a bi-lineartime relationship.
