Anything exciting?

I'm currently in the process of figuring out what to do, but we're having a hard time finding something we want to do...

Need ideas!

Hi Diana;

I probably won't be doing anything because I haven't been feeling well. Or maybe like last year (when I also wasn't feeling well, I will drink a whole bottle of wine by myself (all alone at home mind you) and then make completely innapropiate midnight phone calls to ex loves. I don't suggest that.

But your question reminded me that I just came across a packet that was bundled up to be scrapbooked someday (lol) and in it contained a party we had on a New Years in the late 90's.
The theme of the party was: Who needs a new year? what is wrong with the old year? Maybe I wasn't quite done with it yet, has anybody ever considered that!!!!! These words were printed on a flyer. And then the directions went on to suggest that each person dress accordingly to a year that they were not particularly "done" with yet. They also had to provide music from that year, and photographic evidence, which we posted on a huge board. We had a karaoke machine, so that the brave and/or intoxicated could sing their hearts out to the songs from their year. It was a hoot! Oh, and it was also a weird match up party too, because I wrote in the flyer that anyone who didn't feel "done" with someone, could invite that person as a guest, and if they were nervous they could show said flyer and say, "well, see you have to go."

Most were chicken on that account, but two did go for it. One didn't work out, and the other couple got back together afterwards.

So, there are lots of fun and creative ways to go about celebrating new years eve, other then spending tons of money in packed clubs...uggg.

I plan to spend it here and on myspace with Merlot bottle close by. I know, I really live on the edge huh?

That party with the "years we are not done with " theme is inventive.

really cool idea. Mine seems to be rather recent- 2006. I am still rolling around in it's nuclear waste

The bottle of wine is a familiar theme. I have always worked NYE. Going home alone to my bottle of champers. This year it will be a cheap...ahem...inexpensive bottle.

Nyears is my least favorite time.

The "choose a year" thing sounds very cool!

But, we were planning on going away somewhere...

Node, why do you hate NYE?

I don't hate it, just my least favorite time.

Maybe I view it as a coulda, woulda, shoulda, time.

People tend to be a little nutz, then they add alcohol and stir. The revelry has always seemed a little forced to me.

star, where you crusin' to?
I do wish everyone a lovely 2010 btw;
may your oyster be a pearl factory...

And if the postmaster should mistakenly arrive with this->
[sold at auction for $21,000]

I wouldn't mind

Node are/were you a bartender as well? I think that is a main reason I dislike it. People really do get nutty. But for me, it's like another anti-climax thing. You make these plans, get new outfits, spend hours getting ready, and in the end it never seems to be as fun as you thought it would. That is why I started doing the home parties. Well, that and the D.U.I checkpoints everywhere!!

It does seem contrivved, and kissing everyone in the vicinity at midnight, ewwww, I mean I like kissing very much, but you know this does go terribly wrong on many occasions!!! *shudders*

The next day seems like a big bummer too. You got a hangover, your sparkly dress is . on the floor mixed in with a heap of confetti, and you don't have anything to look forward to for the rest of the dreary winter. *wow, I am an upper today*

I like fourth of July, now that is a holiday!!! warmth, fireworks, food, outdoors, good times. laid back, no sparky attire required.

*have fun Miss Kiss*
