I watched a special on The Beatles the other eve....While never being a Beatle's fan, perse, I have always appreciated their music and I have always wanted an album/CD. The program I watched intrigued me... I would like to purchase the particular album that they birthed after their time in India. From the program I gathered alot of the music from this particular album (with the Sitar, etc.) was gleaned from their experiences in India. Was it The White Album? thanks in advance t~~~ IP: Logged |

Hmmm, I am a Beatles fan, but I am not sure, I can try and find out for you though. I do know the experience changed John and George's views pretty much for the rest of their lives. Also it was after going there that they changed appearance quite radically. So maybe by looking at some album covers the answer can be found, that and the song topics. I'll ask my Aunt if you haven't an answer in a day. She lived and breathed soley for the Beatles. .. India and The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi .. The Beatles first listened to the Maharishi lecture in London in 1967, and learnt of his teachings and philosophy of Transcendental Meditation. This was soon followed by a visit to study with him at Bangor in Wales, and several weeks of study at his ashram in Rishikesh, India. Whilst at his camp The Beatles wrote prolifically, creating the tracks that would become their next album, The Beatles, or as its commonly known, The White Album. ~ http://www.thebeatles.com/article/India_and_The_Mahareshi_Mahesh ~The White Album ~ http://www.jpgr.co.uk/pcs7067.html ~ IP: Logged |

How weird - 2 days ago, I was thinking that the Beatles music must have changed after their time in India and then you post your thread..!! I checked on iTunes for the White Album and they don't have it. You've got me interested now!! IP: Logged |
