It's the morning before the afternoon before the evening before the night before Christmas. All through the school, not a soul was stirring, not even a fool. Seriously folks, it's the day before Christmas and I'm at work. Actually I have a history of Christmas labour ... When I was a waitress Christmas was my busiest day. However, will I ever get used to not having a break for Christmas here in the East? I am doubly traumatized by Christmas these days: first of all, it's cold and snowy, which is completely unnatural. All my South African Christmas memories are of me in a bathing suit eating ice cream and swimming - in the sea, in a pool, but swimming! I must hail from Atlantis, I'm sure. Well, here I am, bundled up like the Michelen Tyre Man with layers upon layers of clothing. A far cry from the cool water and the hot sun taking turns to touch my skin. Secondly I'm traumatized by actually being at work. At work! Who goes to work on the 24th of December? Crazy Koreans, that's who. Sometimes it seems to me that no-one in this country ever takes a break. If Korea doesn't become the richest country in the world within my lifetime I think it will be very unfair ... considering how hard they ... em, I mean, we ... are working! I am definately trapped in a Dickens tale. Anyway, to everyone out there, I hope you have a totally blessed Christmas : ) Love, fatinkerbell ------------------ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter. I know how you feel - I dressed like the Michelen Tyre Man when I lived in Japan during Christmas time. I was even working in the office on Christmas Day!!!! (Although, I wasn't dressed in my bulky tyre man clothes in the office - that would be too weird).I guess that's showing how the Korea and Japan are not Christian cultures. I hope your Dicken's tale becomes a fairytale wonderland on Christmas Day!!! IP: Logged |

Funny post fatinkerbell. I'm always at home on Christmas, cooking and slaving away, but it is better than slaving away for a boss, so I can't complain. They always leave it to me to do the "catering" but this year I am on strike!! I am going to lock myself in my room! Merry Xmas dhalinks!!

Spanky - No No ... don't wake the 8 year old up!! Beware!!! Oh no I bet it's too late right? You've gone and done it already. I sense the excitement balance of the force has been elevated... Unmoved - Yes! Stay in your room! Don't make them make you feed them! Wink - Phew ... glad I'm not the only one who was doing absolutely b u g g e r all at work in the big lead-up to Christmas : D

LOL @ U Fatinkerbell. It was way to late.I woke him up as I do every year. My lil Cap man is no trouble, on any exciting occasion, rofl. You know what happens to them right? So I am the one who gets excited every year & I'm the one telling him to just rip it open already. He is like me so very much. Picking ever so carefully at the sticky tape. IP: Logged |

The trifle was delicious and I was able to have trifle leftovers for breakfast on boxing day. Mmmmm. Nothing beats that. Anyway, Spanky, I think you should consider adopting me. Seems like you get lots of loot if you're a Butler : D------------------ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter. IP: Logged |
