Hello

For those who frequent LL and are friends with me on facebook, I deactivated my account - so I will no longer be on facebook.

I am on MySpace and twitter and so you can find me there instead.

Thanks,

Unmoved

Ugh!

Yeah, the privacy thing, or lack of, was getting to me. I might reactivate it later.

hahaha.. yeah I wonder who all I recognize and who I don't. A lot of ppl have changed their usernames since april. I probably should have kept it but it just didn't feel like me if that makes sense. Have you noticed how the people who changed their usernames on here almost take on a whole new vibe? Probably just me and my own paranoia lol. In every other profile I have, it's WinkAway...even my yahoo id is WinkAway.. actually, I think I changed it to WinkAway on FB too since you can add a profile handle on there now.

Anyway... maybe I'll give Myspace another try... but it used to be that I'd get between 2 to 5 friend requests from sleeze bags daily.. just turned me off.

Well, what you have just said is the basis of numerology. Maybe they do change in personality due to the new name vibration.

Yeah, come on over to MySpace. Well, the thing is, myspace people aren't nearly as foward as facebook people. That's another thing which irks me about facebook, the over familiarity of strangers.

People say Myspace is cold.

Anyway, I think it is fun and it is also easier on the bandwidth more than facebook.

What sucks is that the people I grew up with are on facebook - but then, maybe that's a good thing.

Lolwat Facebook has way better privacy settings than Myspace. You can block content from certain friends on Facebook. You can't do that on Myspace.

Not to mention Myspace is an eyesore.

You wrote, I note, that you might reactivate it later, but I just thought I'd put it out there: that you can actually delete it permanently. I don't know off the top of my head how, but google it, and I'm sure you'll find out. I've done it twice :P It's my 9 birthday.

Okay, amwols.

I decided that MySpace is better than facebook according my privacy/security needs - all social networks have their pros and cons. If facebook meets your needs, then cool. It doesn't meet mine anymore. The main issue being: I want to control what comments show on my wall by screening them. Secondly, I don't want people knowing whose wall I commented on and who's status update I liked. This wasn't an issue before, but facebook has changed, and now they give you an option to remove it after it has been shown, rather than just not showing it at all. I don't even have an option of removing the wall anymore.

If you go under the "friends" dropdown on myspace, and select activity stream, you can control what content you can receive from your friends.

Cardinal - I'll look into it. I don't want to permanently delete it but the thought of deleting it is very tempting permanently.

Facebook is just plain to me. I am amazed at its popularity. MySpace rules!

Well personally, I prefer FB because for some odd reason I have connected with a ton of people from wayyyy back. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that this past summer was my 20 yr High School reunion and I was on the reunion committee lol.
But to me that's kind of fun. I'm not that private of a person, so I don't mind sharing. And even at that, there are settings on FB to where you can control who see's your wall posts, updates, etc. It took me awhile to discover that. Then I had to go back and reactivate it since my good friend couldn't see my updates... oh well.. lol.
And the only people on my Myspace...which I haven't been to in forever.. are people I really don't know.
But that's just my opinion :-)

Don't get me wrong, guys. I really did like facebook because literally all my friends from school and home are there. But... there are also over familiar strange creeps there! I've NEVER, not once, been presented with a situation where I had to block someone on MySpace. And, the public things are my blog which is written for all to read, so... My Space finstions under my rules. Facebook rules you!

I love facebook!

I re-connected with old school friends and relatives. Now I have 10 relatives on my facebook. I like all the interaction on there.

since my Solar Return,

Uncle Eddie, his kids, Eddie,Jessica, and Joey are on my facebook

so are my other first cousins,Tashae,Christina, and Ravan

so is my 3rd cousin,Monica.

Tashae,Eddie,Joey,Christina,Monica,Ravan, and Tashae joined since this recently past Christmas.

my 1st cousin, first removed Trae and my 2nd cousin, first removed Rhonda have been on my facebook since May of last year.

I am not sure what's the issue with privacy. I think that mine is fine. Besides, I feel that with my life purpose as a neurdiversity advocate that wants to form a nonprofit neuro-diversity organization, I am supposed to be a public figure which rules out having a lot of privacy.

I thank God and the Angels for facebook for helping me re-unite with my relatives.

I will add you to my myspace.

Raymond

I went back on facebook.
I feel so dirty and I am not hearing the end of it, so spare me.

I went back to market my songs when they are available for sale. I know. Capitalism made me sell my soul.

But, I have already forgiven myself.

I use them both. I alternate between getting bored with one, and then the other one.

But, I disagree with Amowls, myspace is a creative place, not an eyesore, to me.
FB is yawningly plain. That is the major turnoff.

But the activity stream is easier to control, people on myspace clog it with so much advertising (alot more bands are my friends on myspace) that I can't see what my friends have written, and I can't comment, unless I go to their pages individually, which is alot more effort than on FB.
