Okay, I remember now.....This is the positive side of LL. LL actually helps me to develop my communication skills. It's like stepping out into society and bumping in to all sorts of people. Sometimes I react, and other times I can process stuff with a little more reason. I like being able to process stuff and think about it - but I also love the liberation of speaking out flippantly when the moment catches me. I'm ranting, but I'm on holiday. Once I'm back at work, I'll limit my replies to monosyllabic grunts, probably much to Knowflake's relief!! IP: Logged |

koiflower Good replies. I shall reply later in full. Was just up handling pain/distracting myself waiting for the meds to kick in before going back to bed; and so whilst waiting for it to let up, and making sure it was safe for me to lie down again, decided to log in a few minutes. Later!------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. }><}}(*> IP: Logged |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsvAj6qfmFQ I would feel sorry for the clown if this really happened. However, is it wrong to think it is a funny commercial? Twisted I agree. Laughing at even a pretend injury makes me uncomfortable. However the ladies' and kids' reactions were kinda funny in a warped way. I mean, no one knew why he was screaming. Opinions? PS.koiflower...sorry I forgot to get back to you. I will look thread over and try to reply more when can. ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... for some reason i find that commercial hilarious.slipping on ice isn't funny either, but sometimes i laugh pretty hard before i do anything else when i see someone slip on the ice. i am not a mean person, in fact very compassionate, it is just a knee jerk reaction. but i also laugh at my own foibles, mishaps and shortcomings. i laugh at my own add, when forgetting stuff or being easily distracted isn't all that funny. i mean you can laugh or you can cry, i prefer to laugh if i can. done nuff crying. when my back goues out and i walk crooked, it really hurts, but since i know that i walk like i have a board up my ass, it is kinda funny. even when it hurts. guess i am just wierd...and i'm ok wit dat.

Nah you are not weird....most folks find such things funny. It gave me a combination of finding it kind of funny in a warped way, but the guilt at his pain (if it were real) overrides the humour and I feel bad/sad for finding it amusing. From what I have observed...that makes me the weirdo...not folks like you.So do humans laugh if something is shocking? Unexpected? Is that the thing termed "knee jerk reaction"? I am seriously trying my best to get a grasp on humour. I make funny over my brain farts (too many strokes and head traumas, and being Narcoleptic)and my palsied "melting drooling face" makes me look like troll...and toss in times when my speech is impaired....I suppose I look like joke fodder. And my loud pain yelps when an unexpected agonizing violent torsion spasm hits me in public.... people stare, some laugh, some look like they want to barf, so I laugh to cope, but am crying in frustration and deep embarrassment inside. So I rarely go out in public. ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. }><}}(*> IP: Logged |

i am truly sorry lexx. when people do that you should look em square in the eye and say something smartass, like "you should see the other guy"...it would do 2 things, make them feel like an ass for staring, and turn something uncomfortable into a connection of sorts. i know it is hard for you. in all honesty, i don't like crowds of people or big stores or places where there is a lot of people, so i stay in a lot too, more because i don't like crowds of people than any other reason though. Sigh...I never was good at on the spot "smartass" comebacks. I guess that is a skill I just do not have. Oh yeah...LATER... I think of something, but that only irks me for going blank at the time. Like I said, I do try to laugh it off or ignore it, but it is still emotionally uncomfortable. Also, like in some of my falls, on ice, or anywhere.....sometimes bleeding to boot, unable to get up at times without help.... well it is hard to laugh it off at those times. Except for one terrible time, where I had to crawl for help.... most folks either ignore me (better than being laughed at) or some good compassionate souls actually have assisted me. Blessings to them! Oddly kids are nicer than adults.------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. }><}}(*> IP: Logged |

A rule for a comedy person is to tell jokes of THEIR own life experience not another's. If a person goes through an experience - they have EARNED the right to talk about it...Advice given to me by my Comedy Coach! IP: Logged |

It's too sad, the judgement people bring on each other, mostly because of appearance. They can get a group/pack mentality about it in cruel ways. I see it at my work a lot. I can't stand the 'pack' mentality...I really stand back and distance myself from these people. If they would only realize and put themselves in another's shoes for a day. IP: Logged |
