actually this is serious. positive thinking is and has been pushed everywhere, every church every self help..... create your own reality. and it is so easy to change your way of thinking and yes, good things do come into your life. but i have to wonder, hwen someone i love tells me they are cured of cancer, and the doctors actually use the word remission, and you believe what they believe, but it isnt the truth, the truth is they have cancer and it wasnt cured and it came back and they are sick.

seriously we dont alter, truly alter life, some things are not in our hands.

watching someone you love get sick, real sick, sucks. you dont get the years back. you cant go back and be more loving, more nurturing, more christlike, kinder. you just dont get to.

i guess there is more than one way to manifest a reality. and i guess some things are just out of our hands.

I think some things just are out of our hands. I don't claim to know why - whether that be manifestation or karma or there's an agreement before birth or any of the other multitudes of theories out there.

At the same time, if you go around expecting bad things to happen, you're looking for them so you're more apt to see them whereas someone may just walk straight past the same incident and totally miss it.

We all live on the edge, but some see the scenery, while others see the cliff........

.........sorry about the platitude. That just popped into my head.

We are all learning as we get older. We can refine our thinking and behaviour. But then we have to rub shoulders with other people with different attitudes, ego-issues, challenges and we can only hope that everyone has a portion of Peace in their heart.

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this

A workmate of my husband's died in a head-on the day before yesterday. My 9yo son was quite upset that his dad's friend had passed and we talked about it last night.

I asked him to imagine what humans would be like if we lived forever? And how much we would take for granted? I think the fragility gives the value. We are here for a limited time - that's what makes it so damn precious. So live it to the max.

The glass is half full or half empty but you can refill it and you can drink it dry. That said, they're not the only alternatives. I'm a big fan of a full cold glass of Coke. And keep refilling...
