I have been intending to get a tattoo on my lower back for a few years now (note to self - just do it!).I was clear in my mind that I wanted the astrological symbol for Scorpio (it's my sun sign and I have always felt quite scorpionic). My second choice was the live/love/loyalty symbol - but I don't know whether that would work with the size I want. Coming here and learning a bit more about astrology has made me question this simple 'sun sign' affiliation. I am still learning about all of the different aspects of my chart, and progress is slow. I had a go at the Pullen Chart reading, and that comes out with Scorpio on top as well. What d'ya reckon?

HMMM, we've had this discussion before, but, it's good to have it again, because people do change their minds.I have a butterfly on my right shoulder. Why? Because they are pretty. And the other reason was because one of Ozzy's tattoo artists was touring Italy, and I couldn't resist getting a tattoo from someone who tatted The Oz Man. I have a rose on my middle finger. Why, because my ex made me get it to cover the letter D, that my (other) ex tattooed there himself, since his name started with that letter. I've had 2 lazer treatments so far to remove it. They hurt like hell, and are very expensive. Still working on that. I have a Parrot on my boob. Why to cover up a heart that I got for another person. See a theme here? This is why I need to think these things through. My next one will be a Scorpion on my inner forearm, on my right. This has many meanings for me. It's for all the Scorps in my life. All the Scorps in myself, and to remind me that strength is always "right" there. More to it then that, but I've rambled enough. IP: Logged |

I reckon you should go to a decent tattooist who will tell you if your design will look sh!t or not. The one who did mine said some places in town will do whatever you like but not in his shop. Come back with a better idea....it took three goes.IP: Logged |

my my Gypsee - I think you must be really about 80? You seem to have packed a lot into life so far! I bet you are great fun to be around.I like to scorpion thing - my thinking was similar - I like the idea of having that hidden sting in my tail - it's my choice whether it's seen and reminds me that I have control (most of the time) over that. I definitely need a good tattooist to advise - I am from a small island and wouldn't chance that. Think i'll do some research and wait until I go to the 'big smoke'. IP: Logged |

I don't know, it's like every Scorpio Sun person I have ever encounter seem to have a tattoo of a Scorpion or were thinking about getting a tattoo of a Scorpion somewhere down the road and they were always in black ink ..O.o I think it would be awesome if a Scorpio Sun person design a eagle/phoenix like tattoo which represents the highest state of a Scorpion, that way it would blow the rest of the "scorpion" tattoos out of the water lol XD
It'll be like yeah baby Im an Eagle, the highest and free form of Scorpio haha.. Anyways it is up to you, this is one of those life long things that are very painful and exspensive to remove.. If you get a Scorpion tattoo, design it yourself, there's something magical about having your creation on your body.. Im right now designing my first tattoo for my 19th birthday which consist of my Sun sign, Life path 9, and my chinese astrology sign ^.^ Edit: Also there are some nice tattoo artists that will revamp and edited(pratically redraw) your design but the prices may vary..X_X IP: Logged |

All in all, I think Scorpion tattoos are beautiful even if I have seen many because each and everyone one of them had a different story behind it^.^IP: Logged |

I want a tattoo;not at the stage of doing it yet though. first, I need the 6 packs, now it's a bit curved. then, I was thinkIng of writing in a beautiful writing "charlotte corday" on the side of my torso, left or right she was a great woman I'm alright physically, 6'3 or 6'4 (=1m93) for 92 kg but if I don't get the six pack, I won't do this precise tattoo, or at this place I saw one guy with a tribal one on his right shoulder and sghtly on his back; inside, 2 initials were mixed among the lines. i thought I could do that with F S for someone I fell in love with a couple of years ago and with whom we remained only friends for 1 year 1/2 because I wanted more and he was straight, ia relationship, and living in another country, oh, and we are not in contact any longer!!!not decided yet. it could still work for "******* Stupid" IP: Logged |

Interesting replies.BM is def right. I had this cool art deco design with mermaids and what-not going around that I wanted. The artist I went to refused to do it because the design was to big and bold for my frame, he said. I was mad at first, but, he was right, and I respect him for not letting me walk around like that. Eskimono, actually I'm about 86, but thank you for the compliment. (wink)
Funny, my Father is a Scorpio, and he has a Lion tattoo, among others. I checked his chart for any Leo, nothing significant. My Ex, is a Scorp without a Scorp tat. He has his initials in old English. My son the Scorpio, wants a cross with my name. He's never mentioned getting a Scorpion. But, Cheshire, I do know an AWFUL lot of Scorps with Scorpions. I had this conversation here about that with someone else, who designed jewelry. She said that Scorpios, in her opinion, were the most proud of their astrological symbol. Well, what's not to like? I can't very well go around with a horse's a$$ and a bow and arrow on me. Pire, in tatoo lore, it's baaaaaad luck to ever tattoo someone's name on you. They say, you break up shortly afterwards. I should say, my ex-husband would agree with this. IP: Logged |

no big deal, FS guy is never gonna be in my life again, not in contact anymoreand charlotte corday was a french revolutionary woman who was guillotined for having killed Marat, the instigator of the terror (the few of years shortly after the revolution when the revolutionaries got crazy and started to guillotine everyone for every possible reason) she pretended to inform Marat of some "counter-revolutionaries" activists and murdered him in his bath; she knew she was gonna be arrested and her head cut. she liked liberty, and the revolution, but not the "terror" she died for her ideas and apparently, she was very brave on her way to the guillotine, she would have asked the man who carried her to it to let her see it first because she was curious of this object. Lol GW, I think a Sag tattoo would be interesting, call me a nutter XDAlso I agree, Scorpio is a very laid back sign, so it's ok for them to be proud about their sun sign. The same thing happen to my Aries, her older brother design her first tattoo and the guy at the shop said it was "off" somehow because she wanted it on her calf but instead he worked with her and they finally decided on a design, which funny enough it's her Astrology Aries Symbol, which was in the original design. Though it cost quite a bit more after she did that.

I'm into temporary tattoos. Somehow the thought of having something on my body FOREVER (well, ok, it will still be on my decomposing body after I'm dead!) is completely off-putting.IP: Logged |

I don't have any tattoos. I'm not completely against the idea, but I don't have any ideas for one presently. On the subject of astrology-related tattoos, I know two Aries women (who aren't even very into astrology) that have their sign incorporated into a tattoo on their foot. Pire, Maybe you could tattoo in the 6-pack. That way you could move forward with your plans. IP: Logged |

wouldn't mind a picture that t painted, but couldnt figure out where to put it, wouldn't mind a cardinal, but again, where to put it? knowing my body is not a dry erase board, i just pass...for now...and i kinda noticed no 80 year old persons tatoo looks so great anymore...if i did get one, it would probobly be permanant eyeliner, as i don't see so good and can't apply it very well. but that might hurt...guess i keep passing on the tats.IP: Logged |

Tattoos are not maintenance free. If you have color in it, and expose it to sunlight, you will probably have to have it recolored at some point in time. And don't get tattoos on any part of your body that may stretch. Cause, it ain't pretty, when your pretty turns elasticized after an unexpected weight gain. I have a friend that got a sunflower on her stomach, and then had two kids. It's not a sunflower anymore. It is so bad she cannot wear a bikini, and she should be wearing a bikini. My ex-MIL had the eyeliner tattoo. She said it hurt. But, makeup trends change, and I'de worry about having it in the wrong place. I think the best place for a first tattoo is on the shoulder or back. It doesn't hurt as much there, and you can hide it better. IP: Logged |

I saw on History channel recently that people used to tattoo their messenger's head, let the messenger's hair grow out, and then send the messenger to their destination. Upon arrival the messenger's head would be shaved, and the message would be revealed. If it was an important secret, the recipient might just keep the head, and leave the messenger's body to its own devices.IP: Logged |
