shrugsI think Psychiatry and Astrology can be both valid, but I have issues with both.
Many psychiatrists cannot differentiate neurodivergent conditions from psychiatric disorders because their symptoms/traits overlap
in astrological chart, it can be hard to distinguish the chart of a psychiatric disordered person from the chart of a neurodivergent person. The aspects that astrologers focus on as psychiatric disorders can also be neurodivergent traits. Even hard Neptune don't necessarily mean psyciatric problem. Hard Neptune aspects can indicate a potential to be misdiagnosed. That happens with many neurodivergents and metaphysically oriented people. Psychiatrists look at you're disordered if show signs of disorganization and/or talk about metaphysical experiences.
also Mainstream Astrology is too one dimensional for for me.
It only focuses on ecliptic longitude, and there are other coordinates that can be looked at like ecliptic latitude, equatorial longitude, equatorial latitude.
Astronomers only look at equatorial longitude and equatorial latitude with the use of modern telescopes.
also ancient astrologers used horizon coordinates which are dependent on location of the observer. The ancient star paran system used that coordinate. That was the oldest way of looking at stars before astrologers started projecting stars onto the ecliptic.
the discoveries of Astronomy are making Mainstream Astrology look outdated just like the discoveries of Uranus,Neptune,Pluto made traditional Astrology look outdated.
I feel that when use an outdated system that doesn't correlate well with today's society you can really overlook stuff in people.
Science and Astronomy progress, and so why not Astrology. Even Psychiatry progresses too. They make changes to the Diagnostic Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders. New knowledge of autism is leading them to include Aspergers in with Autism. There is more understanding that Autistics aren't necessarily less intelligent than Aspergers. When homosexuality was recognized to be something natural, it was dropped from the DSM.
I used to be anti-psychiatry for obvious reasons that I have already discussed about.
I still don't trust psychiatrists.
I am losing interest in Mainstream Astrology, looking for a 21st Century type Astrology that correlates with the 21st Century that we are in.
