It's up to you, Glaucus. My feeling is that God --
or whatever I begin to imagine
whenever this word is declared, --
is so much bigger than any "ism"
can appropriately suggest.
Hence, if I had to choose
between Pantheism and Panentheism,
I would "have to choose" the latter,
since it alludes to this "more".
It makes more sense to me
to say that "God is in the world,
and the world is in God", than
to say that "the world is God"
(the pantheistic position), or
that God is utterly anterior
to the world (I'm not sure what
"ism" this would fall under).
Both seem too limiting.
But any position is limiting,
and that is my essential point.
Truth is not a position,
but a movement.
Sure-footed is light-footed.
So, yes, I have taken
pantheistic positions, because,
for me, sometimes, God is the world,
and matter is the holiest of things.
But this is not so much a position
as it is a snap-shot of my soul in motion.
I believe "God wants" us to move freely
and be capable of seeing "Him" in an
increasing multitude of ways.
It becomes more and more difficult
to say what "God" means to me.
Yet, I attempt to do this constantly.
And I've found a way to make sense
of the contradictions that appear.
Or, rather, not make sense of them,
but, accept them -- they are there;
they are a part of this experience,
and I cannot deny them; not with all
the power of my intellect;
believe me, I've tried.
