I am really proud of this! After Kevin came home, I started sponsoring women from this organization called Women for Women International, to pay forward all of the good things people did for our family while he was in the hospital for 8 months.Women for Women International pairs you with a woman in a country that has had immense strife, such as Rwanda, Congo, Bosnia, etc.
This newsletter came in the mail, and I wanted to share it with you all.
Cotilde Mukakinani is a 41-year-old Rwandan widow with three sons. She relied solely on her husband for financial support and needed to find a job after his death to provide for her family. She tried to find temporary work building houses, but her age proved to be an obstacle in getting hired.
In September 2004, Clotilde joined Women
for Women International’s Sponsorship
Program. With her first sponsorship funds, she began selling charcoal and was able to save a portion of her funds in a group savings account. Clotilde has already been able to save $20 after only two months of business. Her success has inspired her to expand her business and begin selling vegetables.
Clotilde is now confident that she can
improve life for herself and her children. She is happy and proud to have a full-time job that permits her to earn enough to properly feed and clothe her family.
I wish I could post the entrance and exit photos! It's night and day.
