It's just a pic of her haircut. I wouldn't track down a reality show clip and foist that on anyone! I did watch about 15 minutes of it once, maybe a year ago. It was awful.

Good news for White Stripes fans! Jack says Meg may be over her acute anxiety issues. I'm really hoping they will both be ready to work on a new cd/tour sometime this year.

I didn't know she had anxiety issues, but, I notice that people are very unkind about her.

I was reading on Youtube, and someone had put a link by one of their videos, which contained a story by a music critic, who said that Meg had no talent, and was just Jack's "metronome."
It also implied that he keeps her around out of loyalty.
I would imagine that would be very difficult on one's self esteem.

I always get sad when I read/hear stuff like that. I know, I'm a dork.

Yeah, she had bad anxiety during the tour and they had to cancel the rest of the dates so she could rest.

I really admire Meg! I have seen a lot of haterade about her online. I think much of it honestly it boils down to her being female. People still have a hard time accepting that female musicians can be good, and females in the music world are treated like freakshows in many respects. Sure she's Jack's metronome, she keeps the beat because that's what drummers do! She's a unique drummer with a lot of heart in her playing and the ability to set the ground for blues playing. I think people overlook her contributions because they aren't paying attention to her musically, they are all focused on whether she is showing any cleavage. When I met her during the Elephant tour she was quiet and shy but very sweet.

I agree with what Jack said about her:
"I never thought 'God, I wish Neil Peart was in this band.' It's kind of funny: When people critique hip hop, they're scared to open up, for fear of being called racist. But they're not scared to open up on female musicians, out of pure sexism. Meg is the best part of this band. It never would have worked with anybody else."

Good for Jack.!

I'm not a Rush fan, but my ex husband played in a Rush tribute band, and I know who Neil is, and no, the two are not comparable, because it's such different music!

But, they say if the drummer is off, so is everyone else, so, Rock On Meg, don't let 'em get ya down sista!

Good for him for speaking up! I read somewhere, that he said, when they started to play together, it was as if the universe clicked on. or something to that effect.

It is unfortunate that people feel free to get down on female musicians.

Oh my goodness, Gypsee. Your ex must have been a good musician to play in a Rush cover band. They aren't always my cup of tea (2112 makes me doze off), but there's no doubt that they are talented and have written some incredibly intricate music! We just bought our Rush tix. This year is an anniversary tour so they'll be playing my fave CD of theirs - Moving Pictures - from beginning to end and then doing their "regular show."

Yeah, he was a great musician, he also looked exactly like Kevin Bacon, and I am SO GLAD to be rid of him. lol.

He totally ruined Rush for me, although I didn't much like them to begin with.

You know how everyone has someone's voice that goes right through them??? Getty Lee, that would be mine. ugg.

I hope you enjoy the concert though, Musette!! xox.
