I just love her. She's so cunningly unassuming.

Geraldine McEwan is fabulously sweet and endearing!
Another great actress who played Miss Marple was Helen Hayes.♥
(a wonderful lady ♥ whom I had the pleasure of meeting in the early 1970s)

quote:
Helen Hayes

American stage and screen legend Helen Hayes portrayed Miss Marple in two American made-for-TV movies, both for CBS: A Caribbean Mystery (1983) and Murder with Mirrors (1984). Sue Grafton contributed to the screenplay of the former. Hayes's Marple was benign and chirpy.

Sadly not yet.
But oh my yes she was fabulous!
I loved her in the movies I saw her in.
I have not seen her as Miss Marple though.
What a presence she had though!
A true grande dame of her day!

OMG Kat yes, that lady was hilarious.
I've seen those movies so many times I can probably quote them.

Did you see the one where her and Mr. Stringer were doing the twist and her in a evening gown?
(she did look like a very sturdy Taurus)

THAT WAS FUNNY

I have the whole collection.
There is only one Miss Marple.
The scene where she was dancing the twist was in Murder at the Gallop.
But the best line ever was in the above movie Murder Most Foul where she says when pointing a gun at the murderer

"I must warn you, I won the Ladies Small Arms Championship at Bisley in 1924"

I even have the theme tune for my mobile phone ring

OMG you guys! I'm so glad you love MM as much as I do!

"I must warn you, I won the Ladies Small Arms Championship at Bisley in 1924"

Yes, I had to chuckle on that one. And her doing the twist before pretending to be ill is classic!

I can't believe you have the theme as your ring-tone. I'll have to tell my b-friend about that.

Let's see, I've got:

Murder, She Said (1963)

Murder at the Gallop (1963)

Murder Most Foul (1964)

Murder Ahoy! (1964)

Does anyone remember in Murder, She Said when she was asked by that cranky man to marry him? After she turned him down he shot back, "Who would want to marry you?"
And in her style she replied, "Well, apparently you."

Yes!!And hadn't she apparently won some major riding trophy?
And the sword fighting scene in Murder Ahoy is amazing.
When I grow up I want to be her. Margaret Rutherford is (was) a joyous human being!
And it's amazing how many people know that ringtone
