ASTROLOGY REPORT FOR
JUNE 2010

June is highlighted by a powerful lunar eclipse forming a grand cross, along with the first Jupiter and Uranus conjunction in Aries. Both planetary events align with the Super Galactic Center in Libra. The May full moon in fiery Sagittarius set the pace for awakening us to the desire for greater independence and freedom, as well as the quest for truth and justice. This was enhanced by Uranus entering the 0 Aries world degree on that same day. All these events serve to further quicken and intensify the momentum towards change and reform.
The first week of June begins at a slower-pace, due to the influence of the Neptune station on May 31 and the Mars/Neptune opposition on June 4. Individual energies tend to be lower and there can be more delays and setbacks at this time. There is also increased potential for deception, scandal, confusion and disorientation. This is not a good time to strive for big accomplishments. It is best for attending to inner work and getting needed rest. The Chiron station on June 3 can increase our awareness of issues that need healing at this time.
On June 5 Jupiter enters the fire-sign of Aries, which enhances this planet's qualities of self-assertion, pioneering, independence, courage and leadership. Jupiter travels in Aries until September when it retrogrades back into Pisces until January 2011. Mars entering Virgo the next day can provide us with needed practical ideas to carry out our ideals.
On June 8 Jupiter will conjunct Uranus at the world degree of 0 Aries. Since this degree is aligned with the lunar eclipse later this month, personal and world events will likely reach greater intensity at this time. The two later conjunctions occur on September 18 and January 4, 2011. This combination is known for sudden changes that bring prosperity and greater opportunities. However, it can also result in accidents that occur when there is a misjudgment or an overextension of one's abilities. When an accident does happen, luck can result in emerging unharmed. Mercury trines Saturn on this same day, which can help channel these energies in practical, sustainable ways. Harmonious Mercury aspects to Jupiter/Uranus on June 10 are good for making connections and attracting opportunities.
The New Moon occurs on June 12 at 21 Gemini 24. Gemini rules our channels of information and communication, along with education, local travel, automobiles and siblings. This lunation widely squares Saturn in Virgo, which sextiles Venus that same day, providing us with opportunities to support others and to clarify any miscommunications. We can also develop our perception and communication with sources of higher intelligence. This lunation reminds us of the quickening effect now between our thoughts, feelings, words and outer manifestation. Starting a journal for dreams and spiritual insights is highly favored. The Sabian symbol for this degree refers to "dancing couples in a harvest festival" and "the wholesome enjoyment of organic processes and emotional drives."
June 14-15 features favorable alignments between Venus and Mars with the outer planets. This is a great period for initiating projects and attracting opportunities. If you have been working towards an important goal, it could manifest in a harmonious way at this time. It will also be good for relationships, community gatherings and networking. The Summer Solstice on June 21 will also be a powerful time, as it is close to the upcoming eclipse.
The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, which occurs on June 26 at 5 Capricorn, is one of the major astrological events of this year. This eclipse forms an exact conjunction with Pluto and a cardinal grand cross that also includes Mercury, Saturn and Jupiter/Uranus. Capricorn rules the government, organizations, real estate and one's career, and has the traits of being responsible, cautious, conventional and controlling. The Pluto alignment represents the need for power and control, but it can also be the choice to empower others. With Mercury in Cancer as the fastest moving planet, compassionate heart-centered communication will be very important. This grand cross also aligns with the Super Galactic Center at 2 Libra, which has the potential of awakening us to the true nature of our galactic origins and destiny. We have already seen an increase in earth changes and political events, with more dramatic changes likely to unfold later in the summer. (See Eclipse Special below.)
The Sabian symbol for the sun in Cancer eclipse degree refers to "the tragic results likely to occur when the individual's will pits itself carelessly against the power of the collective will of society." There is more empowerment from working towards the good of the whole rather than just for individual self-interest. The symbol for the moon in Capricorn degree refers to "the mobilization of physical and emotional energies in a spirit of conquest." Our own inner forces of transformation will soon be energized by these powerful cardinal cross energies.
