So I'm just curious, I'm fairly new and was just wondering if these boards are kept in it's archaic state intentionally? How come there are no search features or last post type info? Maybe I missed reading it somewhere...

the search feature was lost when we wanted the smiley thingies. apparently you can't have both. sorry. you can use google, with varied results.

If I went through the tedious task of pruning all posts older than 6 months while sorting through the important ones to keep, we can have search. We would lose a lot of good stuff, and no one would agree on what to keep. I want to keep everything. Upgrading loses our smilies in all prior posts.

So, it's either significantly prune (or manually sort through and create archives) or upgrade and turn the board into a bunch of broken smilie links (showing nothing but an "X")...or waive search.

Or...maybe you get someone to help you with the tedious tasks (like creating archives)
What is the point of having all that valuable info if it takes you forever to find it?
