Ahhhh, today I took a long walk, very slowly.

Which is not my normal pace, EVER.
I walk very fast, faster than most people much taller than me.

Not today, I walked and I walked, and I started noticing how beautiful EVERYthing is.

I think I outwalked my ever running brain.

I found myself admiring the broken glass mixed with gravel in the street.
The way the sun glinted off it was gorgeous.

I touched a dumpster with some spray painted graffitti (sp?) on it.
I tried to imagine the person who put it there... adrenaline pumping, looking to the left and the right, squinting in the night time..

I watched as cars pulled into the drive-thru, they were buying lottery tickets, and liquor and cold beverages.

I wondered what they were wondering?

I felt so much better when I got home.
Just thought I'de share.
Have a great day, everyone.

I need to do this more often with the dogs (if/when I can walk Bertie again ).

There are times in the past when we rushed them, for whatever reason, only for me to feel guilty - it isn't often that I have somewhere to be, so what's the big deal with rushing them? It's one of those things that I miss (like not sitting with the cats enough - picking them up for cuddles, and kissing their foreheads, making sure they know they're loved, but then I sit here more often than I should). I used to walk through the woods with the cats, well - they would join us on walks, or I'd go looking for them, and walk with them for a while.
