Here is my very first online video. I made it on youtube. It's Introduction to Developmental Neurodiversity Association.

Now you will know what I sound like.

I warn you....I sound very young. I definitely don't sound like my age of 38.

The information is excellent but I strongly suggest you ask a friend to hold the material in front so that you can read it out looking straight, without looking downwards to the notes every few seconds. It would be useful to have a powerpoint slides summarizing your message made available on this page.

shrugs

actually I think that actually helped my case
because problems remembering what I read is part of my neurodivergence of Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD. I am presenting myself as a neurodivergent with Dyslexia,Dyspraxia,ADHD. Even when I do posts including astrological posts, I'd go back every few seconds copying stuff because I hard time remembering what I am reading connected to poor short term memory (both visual and verbal). Also visual tracking problems make reading difficult for me. It actually took much much longer to do do a post than a normal person doing it.

Also word retrieval problems affect my speech.

Even speech problems wouldn't hurt my case because those are also part of my neurodivergence. I mentioned that my problems with speech made me resemble an autistic when I was a little kid, and that I had speech therapy that helped remediate my dyslexia and dyspraxia.

Verbal/word thinking isn't my primary mode of thinking. Visual/picture thinking is.
The Veteran Affairs neuropsychologist made a point that persons with strong visual skills who lack comparable verbal facility can often be frustrated because they have difficulty communicating their ideas in a highly verbal society.

Being just myself and showing my weaknesses actually help my case as a neurodivergent who is a neurodiversity advocate. There is nothing for me to hide. It would not make sense to look as neurotypical as possible when I am not.

That's my neurodivergent perspective on the matter.

way to go raymond!!

i get what you AND iq are saying...you want to present yourself as yourself but also to make sure viewers understand what you are saying...the looking down to read actually kind of muffles some of your words. but still, i think it is a great beginning!! and very real, so i think you accomplished your objective.
