The flood level of the river is 14 ft. and this morning it was at 19.5 ft. I don't know what stage it is at now. They closed down the University. They've closed I-35 and Hwy 30. They said if it gets any worse, no ones going in or out of Ames.

I had read last night that the water should be okay to use in showers and toilets today and it could be used for drinking/cooking if boiled. What a pain that you still can't use the water for anything, including toilets. I hope they give the definite okay on that soon. I'm shocked at the photos from Ames. Glad to hear you and the fam are safe and dry!

The Skunk River crested at 26.7 feet, higher than during the floods of 1993...it's lots of water.
