Water water everywhere, and nary a drop to drink (literally). Ames IA is under deluge. The flood level of the river is 14 ft. and this morning it was at 19.5 ft. I don't know what stage it is at now. They closed down the University. They've closed I-35 and Hwy 30. They said if it gets any worse, no ones going in or out of Ames.IP: Logged |

I had read last night that the water should be okay to use in showers and toilets today and it could be used for drinking/cooking if boiled. What a pain that you still can't use the water for anything, including toilets. I hope they give the definite okay on that soon. I'm shocked at the photos from Ames.
