I own a technological freak of nature!Ok - seriously! I will tell you what happened.. I mean it is JUST plain strange. Maybe someone can explain this to me. I am on a wireless connection -- I have a router. They gave me instructions on installing this a couple of days ago and the internet was working just fine. The internet ONLY works, when the router is ON. Otherwise it is impossible for it to work. (or so I thought...) Last night - I accidentally unplugged the router, thinking it was my mobile charger.. I realized that I unplugged it but I was on my way to bed and didn't plug it back in. When I woke up this morning - I checked my gmail & my Uni account as I always do - and I came on LL and clicked on my Mercury thread (read through that) - clicked on goodle and looked something up on wiki. The internet was working fine. Out of the blue - it stopped working.. There was the little cross and it said "disconnected" as it always does. So I went to check the router and --- to my amazement, shock and horror LOL... The router was STILL unplugged. So how in the world is this possible? There is no other connection I could've accidentally tapped on to. I am sure about this because before I had a connection at this place.. I TRIED and checked if there were any free connections in my area.. but there weren't any. Everything was password-locked. It is just sooooooooooooooooooo spooky. I had to post it lol IP: Logged |

I would think it would have to be connecting to another available connection. Otherwise the pages would have to be cached, but I don't think that's likely. I don't know.IP: Logged |

Thanks!! ummmThey were not cached AG. As you all said --- It is most likely a case of connecting to another connection accidentally. BUT - I was here for about a week with no net connection whatsoever. During this week I actually TRIED other connections, to see if I could log on - but I failed every time. So it's still a bit strange. Katatonic - quote: i have no router or connection in my house but USUALLY i get a connection
See? That's the thing. Here, I got NO connection at all. I tried several times before they sent me the router - and nothing. IP: Logged |
