ghosts can be mollified, neutralized, and sent on their way...what a cool building! how big is the manor?

a grade II* means govt aid for upkeep as well...looked at some other pics can't tell if it has any land left or not! that would be essential for me, i certainly do not want to live in a portsmouth 'burb!

quote:
idea : .. ..
a consortium of LL'ers purchase the building .. turn it ito a guest house ..
and get Randall to manage it ..
astrology, psychic readings .. and hauntings all at once ..
stay a week in the most haunted room ( for an extra cost of course ) .. get one night free 'deal' ..

now that's a great idea!!

I was thinking the same thing as Katatonic, concerning the fact that ghosts could be mollified or somehow convinced to move on. Then I saw her other comment about Portsmouth - I've already lived in the Portsmouth area, for two years, and didn't enjoy much of it.

Still, I love the look of the old house... I'd love a huge, old place. (I'll have to follow the actual link later.)

LOL - wondering is this one of those "leaning" houses, or is the photo distorted?

apparently at some point the land was about 350 acres, that would be enough!...but so often there's not much left of these places after all the downtrades and parcelling out that has gone on over the years. this one has been around a long time and i'm sure they have sold at least some of the original spread to keep the house...?

the place i wanted that john taylor bought was on the market with 250 acres in 02 but when they nabbed it in 07 it was only 30...which is in the middle of it's old tenant farms so quite bucolic enough i'm sure! it had it's own spring too, very valuable these days!

ooooooo I love ghost stories!

Remember Moonie? Awhile back he introduced me to a site that he's a member of called www.ghostvillage.com
Great site! Haven't been there in awhile but used to hang out in the fun/entertainment section of it.

I would so love to visit a haunted house.. even for the night. But I'd have to bring me a big burly man to snuggle up to lol.
