We will be keeping the edit function. This is not a democracy, but there were some great reasons stated, so...

------------------
"Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's okay though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation...so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type...I'm like, 'hey girl, magenta!' and she's like, 'oh, you mean purple!' and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, 'no - I want magenta!'"

I was wondering where the voting took place.

I would say nay, but that's because I like to edit out personal things, and I've seen others here that do the same. People post email addresses, birth information, or get more in-depth in some posts, with info that they wouldn't want to keep up longer than it takes for the person they're replying to, to see it. I would only say yay, if we had PM's.

Thanks Randall.

I hope this function is not abused as it has in the past (not by all but some, as seen and causes alot of confusion later).

It got rather nasty, which would typically be closed, but since I was the one who started the string, I deleted it.

Karma called, and Randall had to edit. Karma hopes he learned one of the real natural reasons people edit.

Not really, AG. You're still an A$$hole.

AG, I think you are the most pompous person in Lindaland, and although we have done well ignoring each other for some time, you insist upon getting in my face all of a sudden, and I really am beginning to think that I don't want you on my site. So, to avoid a confrontation that you probably won't like, please do not address me ever again on here, and do not post in any of my strings. I am asking you nicely. That is, if you wish to intertact here. If you really don't care about interacting here, then by all means say something else to me. Stay out of my way, and I will stay out of yours.

On The Apprentice, when The Donald is about to fire someone, you don't open your mouth and get Trump firing at you. You just sit there and watch Trump go after the other guy. Valus and I were indirectly bumpin' heads, and maybe it would have not turned out so well for Valus, but now I don't even recall Valus much at all.

I am confused.

You deleted a thread? I have seen people on here literally beg you to delete threads and they were told it was not possible?

You have locked someone else thread for 'not behaving? and told them that you 'may' unlock it if they behave? Again, I have seen people here literally beg you to step in to diffuse situations and lock threads, and you have promoted freedom of speech.

Strings are deleted here all the time, but only if the person who started it requests it and only one or two per incident, as opposed to "Can you delete all of my posts" type of requests.

And I and my Mods DO step in and lock strings to diffuse situations all the time. Locking a string is not a problem at all if people are arguing.

If I invite people into my home, whether it's for a cook-out, sporting event, party, or whatever, I try to be a good host. But if someone begins disrespecting me in my own home, I would do the same thing any of you would do--toss them out. While the extension of welcoming is greater in Lindaland, it is still my home. I'm only tolerant to a point. I don't claim to be a holier-than-thou type. I've very real, very human, and very physical. And as the Knowflakes who are my MySpace friends can attest to, when pushed, I can be a far beigger jerk than anyone. In the real world, I tend to not turn the other cheek very often. Call it a flaw if you wish, but it is what it is. In the real world, I don't put up with crap from anyone. Disrespect me and my guests in my home (alcohol is no excuse), and you are going to get a physical reaction that you will regret the next morning and several days thereafter. That's just the way I roll.

It's not about it being my site. As I explained, if a particular string is started by you and goes in a sour direction, you may request that it be deleted (but not a mass deletion of posts). If you didn't start it, then other people are involved, and it can only be closed (unless the person who started it okays it).
