I really want a new Forum, and I have been trying to come up with a good idea for some time now. I am no fan of the number 26, and I want 27 Forums. Since we have a lot of new Knowflakes around, I thought I'd ask again if anyone has any ideas.

"Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's okay though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation...so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type...I'm like, 'hey girl, magenta!' and she's like, 'oh, you mean purple!' and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, 'no - I want magenta!'"

Off hand, I still feel that a forum totally devoted to humour and fun, absolutely no gloom, no fighting, no controversial topics...
would still be a good idea.

This is interesting. I will think about it, Randall
I got a few ideas. They may be silly but how about a forum where people can talk about addictions --any--co-dependency, shopping, being addicted to another person, eating etc etc

a forum where knowflakes who need help in the real world can ask for it, like money for example.

Gosh, I just have to say it...

That Godzala forum stuff reeks anger, disappoinment, and violence.

I know that is going to offend some of you but think about it - if a bunch of guys got a forum going with the same explicit content on the reverse, we women would feel like we had been well not raped, but desecrated perhaps, and possibly quite distressed.

There are lots of totally humourous stuff I agree but its like *** for tat on some level to all the guys that are not paying us attention or have passed us up for someone obviously stereotypically hot.

There is no way guys could get away with that - same kind of thing in domestic violence. If the woman gets hit, the guy gets charged, if the guy gets hit people expect him to take it and there is a lot of society pressure on them to not say any thing, he has to have some conviction to actually voice it.

Seriously, this is a typical example of extreme pay back but the problem is the benefits are only short term - the overall nature of it will only add to the distress of the posters - it is generally negative despite the fun comments - but I guess its the same as a guys lunch room packed full of porn with lots of lewd jokes - ultimately it degrades the atmosphere - and these days most management wouldn't stand for that kind of display.

I'm sorry but that is my opinion.

Well for my 2 cents,
What about doing away with one of the forums instead of adding...
For instance the Teen Spirit forum hasn't had any traffic in a LONG time.
I tried posting a couple things there to see if there was any life and didn't get much of a response.

I remain hopeful that Teen Spirit will pick up one day.

Godzala could never work as a forum as it was always spontaneous conversation where people got together at the end of a hard day to simply have a laugh. The humour expressed there is around the site and was never exclusive to one thread type or forum. Funny thing though - I opened Star Signs to a random page earlier today and the first word I saw was "plumpies". I stopped for a moment and thought to myself that that could be deemed offensive to some people in this day and age. Then I thought to myself, well, it's not offensive to me, but it's pretty funny that it could be to anyone. My next thought was that the people that would find that offensive really should pull the sticks out of their own a$$es.

I like Lexx's idea of the humour thread.

I like the idea of a travel forum where our Knowflakes share their travel experiences. And some pics.

I also like the idea of a fourm devoted to music and to sharing links and also talking about music we like.

I like the Music suggestion.

Knowflakes have been posting all kinds of tunes & I think it would be nice to have that somewhere that won't be lost amongst everything else.

Hot Lindaland Topics

Asteroids
Horary
Medical Astrology (a la Glaucus)
TV/Movie Astrology (is Barney Fife a Gemini?)

I've thought about this before and it seems to me Randall that you have most topics covered.

or a forum called

I've tossed around with Celebrity Astrology, but I don't want to mess with the high traffic Astrology 2.0 gets. And I've thought about closing Advanced Astrology. Or adding Tips, Suggestions, and Bugs where people can make suggestions and point out glitches, but I would like to create a popular Forum.

Maybe so, since it vibrates to 8, but 26 isn't the most favorable compound number. Plus, Linda loved 27.

I agree with Happy Dragon about Asteroids. Soooo many threads about them in the regular astro forum, it's kind of hard to just try and find some basic astro threads for learning!

Good points. I was thinking along similar lines. Frequently someone posts a chart and then they're asked to do another one showing asteroids. True about the joke forum too. I like the surprise element of a funny thread popping up at LLC2.

By the way, I had a dream about you last week. You and my children and I were on a desolate property and we were looking at it. I think I was looking at buying it from you and then it suddenly turned into a boat - a houseboat? - and it started flooding. But I was faith filled that we would all be alright. Of course, we've never met or interacted outside of LL and I have no idea what you look like, but that was you in the dream. Go figure. What it means, I dont know. I tend to dream about things that I've thought about during that day and I had been thinking that I really enjoy the honesty, intelligence and humour/wit that you show at LL and I think that's what sparked the dream.

I have an idea, but not sure how it'll be recieved.

It seems that there are a quite a number of Knowflakes that suffer from depression - either clinical or temporary or other - and maybe a forum talking about individual experiences could be useful or helpful and even if people (posting Knowflakes or just casual readers) don't post just having the awareness of not being alone in their feelings may be comforting. I thought we could call the forum Black Dog or something like that. It's not the most cheerful subject, I understand.

Usually, it is really hard to reach out.
