Most of the attendees wouldn't be from Lindaland. Anyone from the New Age community could attend. Aside from the big names who would give lectures and authors who would sit in and talk on various panels, there would also be many fan tracks run by people who are not necessarily published (Eight House Astrology, Tarot, Asteroids, etc.). And late night parties. It would run from 10 am to 4 am (or 6 am on Friday and Saturday nights if you count the parties) from Friday morning till Monday afternoon (you can meet the people on Monday where the lines may have been too long on other days). I would have a costume contest and also a costume ball...maybe even an astrology prom. Plus a Walk Of Fame where you go in and meet the people and get autographs, as well as a guest luncheon where you can eat with them. And plenty of vendor tables for those who want to buy stuff. Planning something like this is intense, though.------------------ I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be. IP: Logged |

Maybe a couple of years. Start with one hotel (Hyatt Regency Atlanta) and move to three (Marriot and Hilton). The three are connected to one another via skyboxes. ------------------ I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be. IP: Logged |

Three huge hotels adjoined by walkways make Atlanta the obvious choice for the events (with several more hotels within a very short walking distance for overflow rooms to accomodate growth over the years).------------------ I have CDO. Programming will be an hour each with a half hour break in between (every 1.5 hours), with several to choose from, so I will need a few hundred subjects eventually. Any ideas? Stuff like: "Can Astrology Predict Death?" "Eighth House Issues" "Tarot 101" Of course, the UFO people will be there, 911 conspiracy theorists, nutrition and alternative medicine (Andrew Weil and others), and just about something for everyone. ------------------ I have CDO. Hooray!! I love things like this and I would love to help! You can add an Irish fellow, Aidan Storey, in the speakers for angelic readings, invocations of angels, chakra clearing, etc. He's *really* good. Check his book; it's a best seller. He has a very touching personal story; his book is an autobiography and explains how he first connected with the angels who saved his sanity basically when -as a little fella- he was sexually assaulted by a priest. I met Aidan in person in Dublin and he's a wonderful very insightful and kind generous person. It would be fantastic to have him in the speakers. quote: Originally posted by Randall: Anyone helping out would get a free ticket. And probably free autographed books and other free goodies. It wouldn't just be about Astrology. All New Age topoics would be welcomed. I know I can get Icke, Dyer, Chopra, and a bunch of others for free if I let them sell their stuff. I'd like to get Sylvia Brown (she's expensive, but once it becomes big, I'm sure she would speak for free), other psychics, the Ghost Hunters, and maybe even some New Age concerts.

Fantastic! He's super busy and not easy to find him; we need to drop him a line well before the event (like with many of your guest speakers I guess!). I'd love to help in any way I can. Just let me know. :-) quote: Originally posted by Randall: He's the type of guest I want.

Thanks, Ra! I will definitely put you to work! Maybe after many years we will even build up to a small parade (if people tend to dress up).

A small suggestion you may want to look into ... it might be advantageous to enlist the support/endorsement/participation of a "book store" called 'Phoenix and Dragon'. They are located on Roswell Rd. and have been around for a LONG time. It is much more than a book store ... they have held psychic fairs and other events over the years, have a staff of psychics, astrologers, healers, etc., working through them, and have and extensive mailing list, I'm sure.Just an idea. It might be worth checking out. They have a website ... just Google 'Phoenix and Dragon'. Cool place. IP: Logged |

I've only been to huge conventions, so I know what to do if it gets that large. But next week I go to a small one. So I can get a more realistic view of how to begin it. I will reinvest the funds each year into more and bigger guests. Run correctly, it can make a lot of money eventually, and then the profits after expenses will be donated to charity (probably one to do with juvenile diabetes). Linda would have wanted that. Funny you should mention that, because the horror convention I'm going to has monster wrestling...and I have no idea what it is. About those authors, it may take a few years, but there will be a time when they will ask to be booked.IP: Logged |

I also want Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and Andrew Weil. Friday December 21, 2012 would be an awesome start day! We could have an End Of The World Bash that Friday (21st)! But as Charmaine pointed out to me, that would be very close to Christmas and would likely affect attendance. So, it looks like maybe in mid-October...if not enough time to pull off this year, then in 2013. Instead of a Costume Ball, we could have a Monster's Ball! And a Halloween costume contest. Many people always dress up in a convention anyway.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you."
