Well, since I started this site, and for the past decade have given it a pound of my flesh--my bone--my very blood, perhaps only I can answer that question. It is my home, my refuge, my shelter, my extended family, and my escape from the thuderstorms of the world. It is not an Astrology site. It is a Linda Goodman site. Linda was an Astrologer. Some may argue one of the best. I see her more as a great writer and poet. That's how she saw herself. Her way of synthesizing Astrology gave the world many new Astrologers. Her way of sythesizing other topics (in Star Signs and Gooberz) brought the secrets of the ages to the masses and touched lives in ways heretofore unimaginable. The first three Forums are based on Astrology. Many Knowflakes barely leave the first Forum. And that's okay. But that is only three out of twenty-seven (1/9th of Lindaland). Lindaland has much more; each Forum is molded after Linda's writings--all of her writings. Linda saved my life. I love her with a totality few of you will ever understand. I would not be here if not for her. I dedicated a portion of my life to honor her and her memory, and I will defend this home from any desecration, just as you may defend your home. That's what Lindaland means to me. What does it mean to you? ------------------ "The earth is not given to us by our mothers and our fathers, it is borrowed from our children." IP: Logged |

well it meant a place where people find whatever they might not have outside:love, respect, the freedom to be who they are without having to be judged by it.LL is not an astrological site, but astrology is a big part of it too. i think its one of the most visited part of the forum, perhaps due to the huge research being made, and that was made by wonderful people, like DD,IQ and VIG.and many others that i did not had the pleasure to meet. I agree. Astrology is a big part of it. I just don't want people to forget that this site is a legacy to Linda Goodman. She is the reason why Lindaland is here. ------------------ "The earth is not given to us by our mothers and our fathers, it is borrowed from our children." IP: Logged |

Randall Upon Linda changing my entire outlook on life after reading Star Signs, I felt a sudden loneliness and began to yearn for a community who would accept me and be open to metaphysical discussions. I have always been ridiculed, put down because of my shyness and social anxiety, not just from home but from cruel acquaintances too. I have always had difficulty in expressing emotion, thought, and ideas, even thought they are crystal clear in my Mind. (Very frustrating) Being painfully shy and finding it hard to make new friends and being abused at home made me a type of a beaten down hermit. One day I decided to Google 'Linda Goodman', then I joined LL. I first noticed my heart feel joy after a long time of lacking anything remotely warm. Lindaland to me initially was everything! A place for learning, a place to give and receive love, a place to be accepted and not judged, a place where flaws are not frowned upon, a place I was not scared if I 'sounded dumb'. If that makes sense in simple terms. I was like a newborn learning how to walk from some of the most wise and kind people I have ever met. Most of them aren't here anymore though. But the new people over the years have been just as influential (most of them don't know it) Not that I felt I could contribute much I appreciate all that I learned. I noticed LL was a huge part of my spiritual development before leading to other things. It is a world within a world to me... if it were not for LL many years ago, I probably would have not had the strength to lead the life I only dreamed about. I may have let another person control me. I owe my sanity, my ability to Love, and my ability to believe in more, to Linda Goodman and Lindaland. IP: Logged |

i posted this in sweet peas and felt i should post it here too if not for the great people on this site i would have left a long time ago out of boredom...but i first found this site because i realized that i knew nothing of the author of my favorite astrology book (only actually). after i got Sun Signs and read it, i thought "incredible". the book was in poor condition so i repaired it to the best of my ability (as i would any other book) and it still is one of my favorite books and for anything so incredible it becomes apart of me so i HAVE to know more and more about it and the one who created it... so ever since i found LL i found a second family, i found love, and i found people who truly appreciate and cherish me..LL goes way beyond just Linda and the people here, it helps me to use my brain in ways i never have or had the opportunity before...this place has opened my eyes, heart and mind even greater than it was before, and i didnt think that was possible
If not for Lexx, my ideal of the after life would not have been refined, if not for Ami's love, advise and friendship i would not have grown as a person, if not for iQ and Geocosmic Valintine i would not have learned so much about astrology so quickly...and Randall and Pluto Squared make me feel at home and cherished like i never have felt before...All of you, thank you sooo much!! i love you ------------------ the better the chase, the better the reward IP: Logged |

Linda Goodman helped me identify a side of myself at a young age that I would have never discovered in my dominant culture. I read Sun Signs at the age of 14, Love Signs a few months later, and Star Signs at 16. It was my destiny to discover her work! The seed was planted and the thirst for knowledge has grown since then and will never be quenched. Finding LL has grown and nurtured that S-elf and taken me places I never thought possible. I'm forever grateful. IP: Logged |

Linda was direct, truthful and a crusader. She reminds me of myself and l have read all her books although l never finished Goobers. We share a LOT of astrological similarities. Her sun cj my moon/venus her moon cj my sun (wide) her sun/venus cj my saturn/nn/venus her saturn cj my psyche/telephus her NN/DNA cj my surname her kaali opposing my kaali Her AC cj my AC her vertex is cj my atlantis. My vertex cj her lara. my aura cj her DC. If astrothemes chart is correct, we were born 8 minutes so our AC's and MC/IC are cj. so yeah, LL has meant a lot to me. I really love Linda's work having known about her and read her books for well over 30 years. I admire her writing and l gel with the vibe of her and her PASSION is something that l eat, sleep, breathe myself. I love my friends here because they allow me to be me, which is a passionate and truthful individual. Linda is no longer here though so l think that the vibe and energy that the members creat in her memory is more important now because it is real and alive IP: Logged |

well I won't BS anyone here, I read linda goodman after joining here, love signs (is that right?) well, Linda Goodman, RIP, is translated in french but she's not been as influential as it seems she is in the anglo-saxon world. that explains why I didn't know about her before joining. but as for lindaland, it as always been for me a form of utopian community. I decided to play the villain because this role doesn't scares me. and I think even in a perfect world yin and yang, light and darkness must be represented to find a balance. I am not scared of being scary. (edit: ok may be not necessary in a perfectly perfect world) I know this place isn't all about astrology, and you just have to go to astro 2.0 to find that out. I discovered astrology in 2006, before that it never appealed to me but back then, I fell in love, started to question myself, life, love ... and among different tools, astrology talked to my core cause it's a vocabulary that allows to sum up looooong ideas in a few words, and my virgo IC, mars, jupiter and saturn love that and my lazy (and afflicted) pisces mercury conjunct south node actually don't mind it either. but to be honest, I am more interested in what astrology can teach me about esoteric sciences. it is so very complete, I believe that someone who understand astrology can understand much about esoterism. as long as you know where to look. when I joined LL as I said, I had fallen in love, but through this internal searching, I found many more questions, and LL helped to phrase them, to acknowledge them. that is what LL is for me, something that help me shake up, push, extirpate and ultimately organize my personal view of the world teinted with esoteric knowledge. Hi Everybody ♥ Nice to meet you ♥Beautiful, SunChild.♥ LindaLand to me is magic, synchronicity and love... all the same thing really. Linda's magic book found it's way into my mind, heart, and hands, over a decade ago when I first fell to my knees and surrendered to the wisdom of a Higher Power. It was so swift and powerful that I will remember forever. This site has brought more beauty and love into my life than I had experienced all together until the birth of my daughter. This is my home as well. IP: Logged |

initially this place was my sanctuary for learning in a peaceful, nurturing and loving environment... am still learning - perhaps not always in that peaceful happy place... but always learning if nothing else, how to live a life full of compassion... and with the constant reminder that each of us - EACH OF US - is flawed and still deserves love and understandingsighs... i hate growing pains ------------------ ...there is no "I"... I have a feeling, like with all things, I will go off topic at some point, but to me Lindaland has always been the place I know I have, aside from all the "real world" problems and drama, where I can converse with people who share similar ideas and philosophies. I left for a while, did not post but still checked in every once in a while to "lurk" and see how my "home away from home" was doing. I have been here for 8 years. I have met some really amazing people that although long gone, helped to shape me into the person I am today. I have grown, as LL has grown, and cut away what was not working anymore, and grown new "limbs", as LL has, and still I come here. The community is different, the people in different places than they were when i got here, as I am. I am now an "elder" as others were to me in many ways. Linda's writing found me when I was 14 (16 years ago now... wow!) and I instantly "knew" her. I instantly loved her. She had a way of making my fantastical Aquarian imagination feel enriched and understood. LL will change again. I may leave again. Come back, lose touch with, get back in touch with members past and present. But to me, I know it is a place I was meant to find, when I did, and each phase I go through, with LL, was also meant to happen and will accept each of these now with the understanding I have now, and will have then. It is fluid, eternal, and ever-changing. Did I go off track? lol IP: Logged |

I read all Linda's books and was inspired by them. When I found this site dedicated to her I joined because I wanted to be a part of not only the community here but to honour her memory as well. Lindaland to me is a place to grow, expand, learn and share. ------------------ quote: "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies with in us." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

charm, , you're a beautiful girl & glad to know you. Ghani, I think you're right on track and I feel the same toward LL too. emitres, growth is a strain, the way I imagine it, to grow you have to push up against the weight of the world... but it's all worth it.
