Only if you let that happen.

I have my fiancé and true friends on Facebook - and lots of relatives - and people I only know from message boards - and people I knew 20 years ago that it's fun to say hi to.

I don't see how having my close friends as friends on Facebook reduces them to anything less than what they are.

I guess it can be what you make it.

It definitely is what you make it-

close friends are still what they were before Facebook.

And people I did not know existed are now great friends, have met a few shining jewels on there (like here in, LL). And the opposite is also true LOL... to me it was joining a large community of like minds - extending into a "network" of real people behind the computer miles away ~ I found my tribe spread out across the globe. I have made friends 6 years strong- we have met in our astral travels and share a part in each others destiny also.

I am grateful for this opportunity.

It is amazing.

What Juni said is applicable for many on there, there's a lot of superficiality. Especially for GenY.

quote:

"Technology is a drug.

We can't get enough of it.

We feed it to our kids and watch them grow on a forced diet of desensitization. Switch on the T.V and someone will tell you 50,000 people died in India. Two seconds later you're watching a comedy. Technology can do that. It gives us simulated realities that make us oblivious to the real world. Heroin does the same thing. So do most class A drugs. Basically, we are all addicts - addicted to the comfort and convenience that technology provides - addicted to the notion that progress is directly related to the size of your computer screen. Of course it is. We must be right. We come from the developed world. We're already developed. Sure. Then again, wealthy kids in America shoot each other. Poor kids in Soweto can't stop smiling.

So who's developed?

I met an Aborigine in Arnhemland, Australia - his nephews showed me symbols where i saw trees and rainbows through smoked glass. They could see fish through clouded water. I couldn't even see my own reflection. I must have forgotten how.

When i look in front of me, i see two paths - spiritual or material. Two worlds - developed or developing. You decide which is which. We're still in the wake of millenium paranoia - earthquakes, floods, end of the world scenarios, cult suicides, viral diseases that eat into our computer realities. This is our developed world.

Then, as Nelson Mandela says 'We are free to be free'.

I guess we make our own prophecies."

Yes!And "fakebook" is a good one

I know if I hang online too long, the line starts to get blurred. Intutition slips and the ability to see beyond words becomes difficult. Having healthy socialization skills will spiral you to the next level, not networkig ability.

I`m not disrespcting any one who does have 5 squillion online friends but I am suggesting they:

Go visit a friend, talk to a neighbor or call Mom/Dad/Auntie....

Juni

Yes phone calls, sitting together in the same room having heart to heart is so important, without it you would feel lonely- no matter how many online friends you have.
We are made for interaction, our auric flames are meant to touch another humans auric flame, we are meant to touch each other many ways, not just physically, but that is nice and needed too, a hand on the shoulder, a hug, stroking someones hair ect...
Without that there would be a depressed, saddened, diseased soul, there is no complete astral connection through the internet.

I joined the official Facebook Lindaland group and I can see your pic but you ain't got no add button, or is it just me that's stoopid? By the way your surname rhymes with that of an ex-president. (In case nobody had teased you about that before).

Oh I found it. I swear it wasn't there before! I couldn't add a message though but you'll recognize me. I'm the one that looks like a smiley. With glasses. They should make me "clever smiley".

I hate all the spam hitting my e-mail.
I hate the lack of privacy, no matter how hard I lock in strict privacy settings, I still get unwanted mail and invites and apps.

That's weird, Lexx, I thought you could make it pretty private now. For some reason, since the most recent "update" of FB, nothing hits my e-mail anymore, not even notifications. I am happy about that. It was annoying before.
