i'm talking like the small town, non-chain or non-franchise restaurants

mine is Luigis Pizza
they are a very small chain restaurant, but they are family run...my local restaurant, there is a guy there who you can just walk in, go up to the counter, not even say anything and he'll know what you want, he never fails, i swear...and the pizzas themselves are HUGE, like a small is a Pizza Inn large, lol..and the pizza itself is soo delicious..i wish i could go there more often

Everyone always talks about Olive Garden, and it's good (although the food is flash-frozen, shipped, and microwaved to order), but we have a quaint little REAL Italian restaurant here called Caffe Amici. Everything is hand-made from scratch--including the pasta!

It was Lou's Billow Beach, but they went out of business.
They had this cruise ship/Titanic thing going.

Same for Player's Brown Derby (out of business) where movie stars went after local stage productions.
So now......
hmmmm.....
do not really have a local favorite.

Though love some that are 40 to 90 miles away.
Quaker Steak & Lube
Hoss's Steak House
Ruby Tuesdays

Wish we had some good seafood places.

Lexx, my friend tried to make it on The Wall Of Flame, at Quaker Steak and Lube.

It ended quite possibly the way one would imagine.

Padmanadi's - 100% vegetarian but offers
"meat" dishes which are created on site...
looks like a hole-in-the-wall diner but it's packed every night... so yummy

Yep, it's true. The food is cooked fresh and then packed and shipped...and microwaved at the local stores. The pasta and all sauces are made fresh at the stores. The breadsticks are delivered that way. They just coat and heat them. They aren't made at the stores. Desserts come from other places, including the Cheesecake Factory and are shipped in.

I like watching The Best Thing I Ever Ate to see what famous Food Channel chefs like at other restaurants.
