My contract is almost up, and I'm getting a new phone when I renew. What do ya'll like, what do ya'll have, and what experiences (good or bad) can you relate? ------------------ "Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all." Harriet Van Horne IP: Logged |

I rock the Straight Talk service that is $45 a month from Walmart. It's cheap, it's no real contract (which I prefer. Helps keep me "off the radar" lol). You buy the phone (there are many to choose from) and then just refill each month. I chose the LG slider that is fairly basic. I get unlimited calls, text and web. Obviously, the web service isn't stellar, can't do all the fancy stuff you can on say, a smart phone, but for me, it's fab. IP: Logged |

I LOVE my Samsung Smiley (T359)! It's perfect for texting, nice display, and internet-capable (I don't have the smartphone features enabled, but glad to know I can). I'm with T-Mobile and pretty satisfied IP: Logged |

I have Blackberry's Curve. It's alright. It's pretty cool. When it gets hung up on some process, though, it's quite annoying. It really tests your patience until you eventually take the battery out to force a restart, and endure the few minutes it takes to load back up. If it didn't have that issue, it would be a decent smart phone. It's good for staying organized. The camera sucks on mine (I think later itterations are better). Video playback on mine is pretty small, too. There are other Blackberrys to consider.IP: Logged |

I rather like my Blackberry Bold 9700 and T-mobile has never given me a problem in terms of service, but.... the 9700 emits radiation like it's going out of style... funny, I didn't know that till my friendly neighborhood psychic pointed it out at my last reading. She said she could feel it. Then I looked it up online, and lo and behold... one of the highest radiation levels of all cell phones on the market.Everyone I know who has an I Phone is thrilled with it, but some people are waiting out the new I phone to find out if there are any glitches and have Apple get rid of them. Just got my first Blackberry a Torch. While I would have prefered The Curve I really like the touch screen functions of The Torch (I have a hand injury and makes life easier!)I have been through many, many phones and I have liked none as well as this one since my original Nokia! t~~~ IP: Logged |

I have an iPhone and love it...have had it for a year. If you travel to foreign countries, buy the international data plan is my only word of advice...add it to you account when you need it, then take it off when you're back in the U.S. Otherwise, it's so easy to use.IP: Logged |

iPHONE4!!!!!!!!!!Nothing beats it, you WILL LOVE it. I've had an iphone 4 since Christmas, still not bored of it, besides calling, texting, and emails, web browsing is crazy good, i even have a forums app that makes checking forums genius! my husband and i can track each other too, we abuse this free function to communicate for free iphone 4 apps are very good, its more than just a fart machine, or an xray scanner...lol I am super productive on this little genius- I can do most things like banking, shopping, paying bills and planning trips with one hand while feeding bubbies. I know other phones would have useful things like that too- but iphone makes it way more simple to use. The retina display is beautiful... it is an all round beautiful phone. Face time is good, am enjoying that 1!!! If you can plug one into a mac, you're set! ------------------ “It’s an interesting thing. Seeing Kuan Yin relating to a flower so intently. Cosigning on the iPhone...The iPhone 4 is actually old news now, if you can wait until June (Apple tends to release a new upgraded phone every summer), I heard the iPhone 5 is going to be a stunner. Rumor has it the new one will have Near Field technology which means you can use your phone to make payments, channel surf, open doors, etc. as long as the other object has a compatible signal. Even the iPhone4 is an amazing product though, the recently released Verizon iPhone will function as a hot spot for up to 5 devices. No more Internet bill ever! Use your phone as your router...just keep that baby charged LOL. I have an iPhone 4, it's my second iPhone, all I say is that I ask myself all the time how I ever lived without it! I even sleep with it LOL...literally! There's an app I use that plays soothing sounds as I sleep Do you ever stop to think that the technology we're experiencing now used to be stuff of science fiction? The world doesn't feel futuristic when you're living in it but even comparing where we are now to where we were 30 years ago is awe-inspiring. IP: Logged |

What do you look for in a cell phone? What features do you prefer and need on the go? What features do you not need?I have a Corby and it suits me just fine. I can video and take pics of my travels. I have close to 400 MPS on it and can listen to music as I walk. I have a nice web browser on it too. I am Pay as you go as I am not into contracts and would rather have control over how much I want to pay on my cell phone expenses for a month. IP: Logged |

I found that flip phones are terrible for texting and web browsing. I had an LG flip phone - twice. With my Samsung Corby, I found it is excellent with that stuff. It has a QWERTY keyboard and it slides open. It comes with a touch screen that makes applications easy to get to. IP: Logged |
