To all the mommies everywhere, thanks for all you do. I know I would be nowhere today if not for mine. She put up with all of my wacky Kramerian ideas of entrepreneurship when I was a kid, and she gave me my moral base, which is the fabric of who I am. I love you, mama.

I could talk with my Mum about anything. Felt really comfortable with her. But now she is dead, has been for many years. Happy mothers day everyone

Happy Mother's Day to all mums Thank you for all you do,sacrifice and provide.

My mum was my best friend, I love her so much. She died when I was 18, and I still miss her every day.

I forget that Mothers Day is a different day in the UK and US.

Happy Mothers Day to all and as someone wrote on my Facebook this morning:

"If flowers grow in heaven Lord, then pick a bunch for me ▬▬▬ place them in my Mothers arms and tell her they're from me. ▬▬▬ Tell her that I love and miss her, and when she turns to smile, ( ◕‿◕。 ღ ❤ place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while. I do miss my Mum!"

I am gonna cry when I write this.My mother is a nut but she loves me.
She listens to me.I,often, have to beat her down and threaten never to talk to her, again, but we come back.
Love covers a multitude of sins and I love her

Mine wont talk to me or to her other daughter. It really feels terrible, it really does. The only reason I'm not getting too depressed over it is because i'm still expecting things to get better, expecting a miracle, I guess.
She's still my Mum and I miss her, glad she is happy though. All the memories of us makes me just feel sad.
I hope one day we can be friends again.

I am so sorry, SC. I cannot fathom how a mother can turn her back on her children. It is truly her loss. You are a wonderful person, and one day she will deeply regret the time she lost with you, your sister, and her grandchildren.

Dear SunChild
If I can come back to my mother ,there is abundant hope.
I sense the problem is with her,not on your side.
I am sorry,Darling.
The pain of the mother relationship is prolly one of the worst pains in the world

Ami I know you've had troubles with yours all your life, and you are so strong.

Randall
Thanks for your kind words.

When you see in movies how families get split in two because of inheritance or a WILL, you think it would never happen to your family, you think everyone is above that grab for money, the manipulation it requires to change things for your benefit, but it happened to us. They tried to be underhanded but it failed. Billie and I just happened to be in the middle of it, in a manipulation ploy, we feel like tools in their game of emotional blackmail. There's nothing we can do, it has nothing to do with us. I still send her messages on her birthday, telling her I love her, even if I get silence back I know somewhere she is appreciating it. I hope.

Any way, not going to let it spoil the day.

I have two beautiful children and my Grandmother who has put up with so much from her own daughter, but she still never says a bad word about anyone. My Nana has always put her children and grandchildren first, all her life, no matter what.
She is forgiving, kind and extremely fair in her generosity.

My Nana

RMC sorry you lost yours, beautiful words.

SunChild - no words that can even make a dent in how you're feeling, but I'm glad that you have such wonderful children and Nana - and that you have been able to still be so kind to your mum.

Wonderful idea with the photo!

Here's my Mum and Me not long before she died, I'd stolen her glasses and put them on my head and she couldn't see too well, oops!

Much love Mum, wherever you are xxxxxxx

Mother is synonymous with sacrifice. I know a guy who never knew what a chicken wing was for years when he was growing up; his mom gave her children the breasts and thighs and legs and saved herself only the wings. She worked three (not two, but three) jobs to pay rent and buy food and school clothes. Whenever a waitress waits on me at a restaurant, I always tip fat, because I know that chances are she is someone's mother and is trying to make ends meet. You know you're a mother when you only have one leg shaved...when you don't have a moment to yourself for years and then go out for the first time and keep calling home to make sure your kids are okay...when you count the sprinkles on each cupcake to be fair. It is a thankless job with no real payoff until years later--when your kids grow up to be wonderful people who then appreciate what you've done for them. Happy Mother's Day! If yours is still alive and in your life, let her know what she means to you.

SunChild your Grandma looks like a Pisces/Virgo effect. Giving and Sacrificing! Is she so? May be she didnt require to do it but she looks like a person who could. And your mum i think will come around later.

And Randall thats a beautiful post you have posted. Brought tears to the eyes. Yes mothers indeed do that. My mother too used to save the good things for us first. So when i started earning i bought for her whatever i could. Once, a couple of years before she died, a pair of golden ear tops. And did she like it? Her expressions when she opened the gift made my life.

Abc, I think so too.

Randall, I love what you wrote.

I just sent an email, feeling drained now but glad I did, going to bed now. She wont speak to me in person so I hope she reads my emails at least.
