I'm watching 20/20 about Ashlee--a little girl who has progeria (the aging disease). She is so happy and goes right on trying to be a little girl. All she wants is a head of curly hair and to ride the school bus to kindergarten. It is so sad. But if we can age rapidly...a whole lifetime in a few years...then by the Law of Reverse Polarity, the reverse is also true. Ashlee is a miracle child, and finally, for the first time, her and 45 other children are being studied by researchers to try to find a cure. She is an angel sent to teach us. IP: Logged |

my heart is breaking too cuz i cant find my work shirt....thats not good------------------ I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate? when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history IP: Logged |

I love the Hindi movie "Paa", also about a kid with progeria. A sad but beautiful movie IP: Logged |

The first time I watched a documentary on Progeria, I bawled for like twenty minutes afterward.(That is a LOT for me, usually I get it out and feel better) Bittersweet and tragic and heart wrenching. Any childhood disease is- anything that affects a child, period. But yeah- this one breaks my heart.IP: Logged |

Bf and I were watching that too, or something similar.I just love those little girls, thought the first family, in the show I was watching, should have told their little one exactly what is going on, but their choice, obviously good parents eitherway! Those kids bring so much joy to the world, I just cant be sad for them or their families. Maybe being in the medical field takes the edge off, but I think that is their place in this incarnation and their soul choice. I used to see a man with progeria twins at the local Barnes and Nobles, and occasionally at the grocers. He would take them everywhere and I always thought what a blessing. Maybe I am coming from a different perspective since I have a "special needs" kid, now 19, but I know what it is like to be given the blessing of having a special child. t~~~ IP: Logged |
