I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate?

arg....most of the Carolyn Grants on FB are much older than the age my sister is supposed to be...and half of the remaining are the wrong ethnicity (unless my dads first wife was black or somethin...which i doubt)...and half of that remaining dont even have profile pix or their profiles are private....and half of that remaining dont even have their list of family.....major headache....either she is not on FB, is under a different name, or she is one of the pictureless profiles

I got excited reading along with you too....then let down, awwww...

Just to add another name to the list, sometimes 'Caroline' spelling can be pronounced like 'carolyn'...so you could try that name, for more options.

Good luck! I heard when I was 19 that my dad sired (heehee, funny name, sired) a son years before I was born.. he was a teen, and the mother was preggers.. and my dad evasively said she was 'loose' (sigh)and it could have been anyone's. Sheesh.

This came about very casually- I was joking in my mom's kitchen, saying- well, hey, you never know, I could have a sibling out there somewhere, etc etc... and my mom says "you do!"
I was like 'scuse me?
What a way to hear it. To this day, he won't confirm or give me deets. I only have a name. One day perhaps I will find out more.

Good luck to you!

Just a tidbit of info, Nicki...

I found my older half-sister, who I knew of, but had no info on other than she was approximately 10 years older than me, and she and her mother moved out of state...

BUT...

I searched the county court records online, for my bio father's name, and low and behold, the only other case where he was the defendant, other than the case with my mother (for child support and paternity), was back 10 years before my birth and the plaintiff was a woman, so I searched her name on WhitePages.com, and discovered she lived in Texas, and had a relative of the right age to be my sister.

Long story short, I snail mailed my hypothetical sister, to confirm I had the right person, and she wrote back that he was also her father! After communicating over e-mail, you know to get a vibe as to whether she was sane and a cool person, we started talking over the phone and totally clicked, and after finally meeting her this past Spring, she and my niece are coming to my wedding!!!

So, it is possible to find long-lost siblings with VERY limited info, and hope this helps you! I feel you are being guided to meet/connect with her now for a reason...

thank you so much VAA....i'm sure i would have lost hope considering the limited amount of info i have on her, but you have renewed my passion to find her

can you guide me through the process you went through in a little more detail so i know better what to google?

Sure, Nicki, my pleasure

I googled:

"______ county court records"

Then make sure the site that comes up is the local Circuit County Court records.

Then plug in your father's first and last name in the search boxes (if they offer online searches; mine did).

The above step only works if there was some kind of legal proceeding between he and your sister's mother, which is more likely than not.

From there, if you have a mother's name, you look for her, then ideally find your sister. It's possible that your sister will have her mother's maiden name, especially if they never married (the parents). My sister and I both grew up having our respective mothers' maidens names, and my father's name is nowhere on my birth certificate. My sister thinks it's on hers, but I've yet to see proof of that, and I would be surprised, considering how he denied paternity of both of us, and there had to be blood tests done as bindinf proof, and in my case, he still setlled the case without admitting to paternity; that was his stipulation.

Best of Luck and lots of white light to you both...it's a door that is worth opening, no matter who you find on the other side, in my opinion

ugh, somehow i get this sneaky suspicion that my search would be far easier if my dad was still alive cuz i cant seem to find his name anywhere, no matter what i plug in for his location...and he did use his middle name as his primary name but even using that i'm getting no results

edit: omg, i think i found his name!!

Nicki is it possible for you to post your father's pic on some site and ask if anyone recognises him to be their dad/relation? Or is it weird. I don't know about the social norms in your place so forgive me if i sound weird. But i just thought his pic might help.

LOL Perhaps you could take some suggestions from our LL friends and even others regarding the site. Like here we have cable but thats only for local circulation. We even put it in newspapers. Just some suggestions.
