New show October 5th at 10:00 pm EST on FX called American Horror Story. The critics at the Hollywood premiere say they have never seen anything like it.

I just finished reading The Magician by Somerset Maugham,(very)loosely based on Aleister Crowley's life.

Quite a creepy ending by Maughams usual standards.

Sorry to say but a lot of modern horror relies on buckets of blood and shock; to hide mediocre tales.

Yup, movis like Jeepers Creepers and The Hills Have Eyes are nothing but blood and gore. A good scare is hard to find.

I just finally watched the rest of this online (tried earlier), and it freaked me out. It reminded me a bit of the Shining, at first.

I lovvveeee horror. I have since I was child... the first movie I saw was "Pet Sematary" at a local drive-in. Freddy Kruger, aside from Trent Reznor, was my first crush. I have been super excited the last few years because it appears 'horror' is becoming more mainstream and easily accessible. I did watch American Horror and love it.
