Wondering where you LL folks have had success.

I've tried pof but mostly seems to be women with poor attitudes and unrealistic expectations/entitled attitude. Okcupid seems cool, but looks like most people do that for the quizes more than anything else.

EHarmony, match, etc. are all just paid scams. Or even if they are not scams, cost far too much for me anyway.

Where does a poor college grad look when online? I always try to see out people at bookstores, while I am out, etc. But want an online portion to supplement my real life looking. Facebook and those sites don't seem to well geared for this.

So what have you tried that worked? Bonus pts. if it was FREE!

For me, I am now 27. I want the love of my life, and even a child, by the time I am about 30 (give or take) or at least have very serious plans for one on the table by 30. Ughhh

I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate?

when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history

OKCupid works.
Known lots of folks it works for.
The quizzes are to help find better matches for you.
You can highlight in your bio things important to you.
I was not hunting for dates, just friends, but got hit on anyhow.
Try it again, I think it is still free.

So cute---Saturn conjunct the MC. I will say something that sounds trite.

Find some passion and go there and see if you can find someone who shares it. What about Astrology group near you or something of that nature? That can help take the pressure off the matchy matchy thing.

passions - nature, hiking, photography (though I stink at it I appreciate it, just like art), concerts for random indie bands, cooking. Maybe there is a club in the DC area for these. Or astrology as you mentioned.

I know when I have met women before, sometimes it is not when I am looking or want. But, it is getting cold and warm bodies make better blankets...

Carl,

Try meetup.com to meet groups of people who share the same interests & hobbies. That is a low-key way of meeting new friends and perhaps a special someone while doing something you love.

And you're right, oftentimes it's easier to meet people when you're not actively looking.

Lots of luck to you,
Sunshine

I agree with Ami, if you have an interest follow it and you will often find a man/woman who shares it with you which can lead to all kinds of fun.
