I'm sorry, I have to just say something about the state of the Astrology 2.0 forum.It's become extremely negative and most of the topics are just self-absorbed public diaries on personal issues with a single person or sign. It's one thing to post a thread about one's own transits or synastry. It's another to post a thread about some Scorpio you hate and OMG AREN'T SCORPIOS ******* CRAZY? Then some other person comes along and says OMG SCORPIOS *ARE* ******* CRAZY, I DATED ONE ONCE AND HE WAS NUTS!
Really... you dated one... and suddenly because you read some Astro article in Cosmopolitan about how Scorpios are crazy that it MUST BE TRUE FOR ALL OF THEM because of the one you met PROVES IT? Or say you married a bad seed and they made your life miserable. Okay, unless you married another TWO at least of the same sign and they ended up THE EXACT SAME WAY, you are complete nonsense. There is absolutely NO objectivity in that.
Stop stereotyping. It's almost as bad as the racist rants on Craigslist Rants & Raves. If you ever take a glance over there, people bring up how one Asian Guy had a small **** and then someone else replies and says, "OMG I DATED ONE ONCE AND HE HAD A SMALL ONE, TOO." Now, someone tell me the difference between that and SUN SIGN BASHING... Please, humor me.
POINT: I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH [INSERT SIGN AND PLANET]. I FEEL BAD FOR YOU, BUT I CARE MORE ABOUT LEARNING WHAT A YOD IS... OR WHY MAGI ASTROLOGY IS NONSENSE, NOT ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU HATE [INSERT SIGN].
Nothing being discussed is ever really about astrology. I've gone off topic and talked about life things like hobbies or sharing general information, but never have I in the past 5 years of being on this site been more disappointed in the behavior that's going on over there. Over and over again, I enter a topic that's about "Such and such who is a Virgo"... Is this about the fact that he's a Virgo and being a jerk... or that he's a jerk and just happens to be a Virgo? 90% of the time it's really about the latter, and it's noncore information. And the bandwagon affect is never-ending. It's the most self-indulgent nonsense that I have ever seen on here.
Sorry, this has been something stewing inside for the past three months or so. It's really upsetting me because sometimes you just want to read and learn but end up just reading sophomoric tips on how to deal with [insert sign and planet] people instead! HERE'S HOW TO DEAL WITH A SCORPIO VENUS MAN. AREN'T GEMINI VENUS PEOPLE COMPLETE FLOOZIES? ETC. ETC. Where's the ACTUAL knowledge?! I thought this place was a center for higher learning on the divine arts, not some nonstop girl's night. I'm two steps from just removing LL from my bookmarks.[/rant]
