I live in a temperate climate...South Texas and everybody is having yard sales all year long...My question, I was going to have one yesterday, but was on call for work so I didnt. Would the Friday before Christmas or the Friday before New Years be appropriate? I have lots of quality stuff, furniture, electronics, etc... What do you all think? thanks t~~~ IP: Logged |

You would probably get more traffic the Friday before New Year's. Although, I did know a family who shopped yard sales and Goodwill for their Christmas presents. It was so sad to me to witness worn toys and clearly torn packages (for those still with the original box) being wrapped and put under the tree. But the children were happy and grateful. And it was always a terrific Christmas there filled with Love.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Either Friday should bring a crowd out Friday before Christmas would give others a chance to find something for the holidays and the New Years Friday is good for adding a little something inexpensive to the home for the New Years party !------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

btw, I love yard sales and see them as a perfect way of recycling. I have purchased some really wonderful things that would be beyond my budget. It can be a way to treat yourself to an expensive wish list on a sensible budget.
