Decided to give sleep a miss tonight as I have a long flight back to the mother land to attend a wedding (bridesmaid). At least it's summer over there and it'll be great to soak up some sun. I'm just anxious about the flight, despite travelling by air often, it's one thing I can't get accustomed to. Hopefully, not sleeping will help me sleep on the flight. I'll pop in here from time to time or lurk around  ------------------

Hope you managed to sleep on the plane otherwise not fun to have a long flight tensed and tired but unable to sleep. If you take a dramamine (good for nausea when traveling by boat etc.) it can get you drowsy enough so you can fall asleep. I suggest you get nice warm socks with you for the plane, and a warm blanket and a nice travel pillow and shades or a face/eye mask. All these will help you sleep. Also earplugs. OR noise cancelling headphones.
I love to travel.
Have done transatlantic trips so many times, and I would do them again any time. It's a lot of fun.

My flight is at 4pm today..18 hours of fun, lol. Anon, you had me  It sounds like a hybernation plan with the soaks and sunglasses. I don't like drugs or meds though unless I absolutely have to (and by force). Let's hope natural sleep will kick in. Thanks for the advice.  Haha! Tan? I wish! Unfortunately the closes to tanning I get is burning up red, peel, then back to normal. Those sunscreens don't help with tanning! Once I even tried those tanning sprays and ended up with streaks. Charmainec the Motherland will be getting oodles of extra visitors including me! I'll be there on New Years Eve! Yay! I can't wait to go back home and hear all those beautiful languages, and see all those beautiful faces and eat all that yummy food. And bask in that Southern Hemisphere Summer Sun. All Good things! I saw your response, Anon. I never had the pleasure of having kids seated next to me but there are those chatter boxes who don't know what quiet time means. They can be annoying..especially when you have your ear phones on and what to listen to music..the mouth doesn't know when to stop!As for the tanning - hey, we're perfect the way we are!

Yay for you Joan!Agreed. It's great there this time of the year. Home will always be home. I missed the languages and accents. Oh and food too. Braai time! Soak it all up and enjoy.

gasp! once when i had to fly to Asia (12h flight) and the kid in front of me was literally SCREAMING the whole way through. 1 hour break, and for 11 hours just SCREAMING. unceasingly. i don't know how i survived.  IP: Logged |

happy trails to u !! and a wedding too ! i myself am a nervous wreck i dont fly well now that i have vertigo and claustaphobia heading home on the 23 . thank heavens i dont have to fly over the ocean. lol at least my son will be with me ...i need to get some kava kava for my nerves . ------------------
