I was trying to edit, and was told I wasn't authorized to perform that function, only to find that it was gone when I clicked back.

*edit. Oh, it's back now. Weird. I refreshed and everything.

It was probably just a case of it not showing to you. I am pretty sure the vanishing problem is fixed. When that happens, you may have to log off and log back on if refreshing doesn't work. Others will be able to see it, though.

No, I saw it there, started to edit it, and it vanished whilst I was editing it.

Thanks, though.

Maybe it's not completely fixed then. But we haven't had any issues for a week (since I shut off the Banners).

Hypothetically speaking, if one were to input the wrong Password (like a typo or accidently hitting the spacebar) when trying to edit and hit the back button it could go back to before it was posted in your cache.

I put in the password, but when I clicked back both times, the password section was empty (that was my first thought). I clicked around a bit, went back to the thread from the main forum page, refreshed, and it still wasn't there, but then it reappeared just after I posted my own thread.

Nah, I think when she tried to edit with a blank Password field and hit the back button, it clicked twice to go back to the previous version of the string, and it refreshed once she posted her new string.

But she says she refreshed before that point and it was still not there.

Reminds me how it happened to me but it's true that I had never messed with any passwords when I had that bug showing.

No, I wrote "messed with" the password field, NOT "messed up" the password field. In other words, I didn't blame you for "messing up" anything. But if you "fiddled" with the password field (as in going back from that page etc.), what Randall was saying regarding the refresh function makes sense to me.

I was just telling Randall that I didn't mess anything up there - or mess with anything. It happened as I said it happened, that's all.

Oh, ok, I thought you mistook my "messed with" expression as an assignment of blame. No worries then.

Sometimes refreshing doesn't work. Then you can click off the site and go back to it. Or posting again will somtimes refresh it in your cache.

But it literally disappeared as I was editing.

Never mind.

Will keep my eye open for more bugs. Maybe it was just an isolated event.

Her e-mail address was posted by her the last time you egged her on and got her banned, so it was a reasonable inference. But either way, I didn't want a continuation of that rules string conflict. She can still read your "nice" post.
