I couldn't afford my DTV this month but I've found so much online I may not even resume it when I can afford it. I get the Young and the Restless same day full episodes, HLN live and I'm still discovering stuff. Why pay their exorbitant prices anymore?

I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate?

when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history

Well, if I usually find my guilty pleasure shows like The Kardashians online. For movies, if you google "letmewatchthis" (it's a website that frequently changes names... for good reasons ) and the name of the movie you'll usually find streaming links. I prefer putlocker or megavideo if they're available. Do the same with tv shows, but with blinkx. I don't use the search engine on the actual site... the results are just random videos, not organized enough to directly find the directory of links to full episodes.

^ TVduck is good for tv shows too!

I'm buying a Roku this month.
I don't have cable right now cos I'd rather spend on faster internet, plus Verizon et al make me physically ill with their crappy cust serv.

I try to watch online, when my computer allows, but I prefer watching on the television. I use the two sites mentioned above for that, unless I can access the shows on the proper sites.

Our cable is now $90 per month. (!) I only recently found that out.

Almost 2 years ago I got so disgusted with cable (on principle) that I dropped them.
I didn't really know what I was going to do because no TV is not really an option so I went to Netflix. This was the best decision for me, I no longer felt used and exploited.
Since them I've learned to go to the Networks, Xfinity, etc.

It was never about the money, but more about how it made me feel (foolish).

I'm not able to go out much for health reasons so I watch a lot of TV too but I want to find a cheaper alternative if I can. I'd like to do the thing where you hook up the internet to the TV monitor. That would be cool. Anyway, I thought it would be a lot harder withdrawal from cable but it's actually been pretty easy after I found the stuff online. I'm gonna have to check out those sites. I feel exploited too since you can't even get air TV anymore w/out one of those stupid boxes. I live in apt and there's no antenna that would work so cable was the only option and it's $45-60 regardless of whether it's TW or one of the satellite cos. That's almost $700 a year! You could take a trip or buy a lot nicer clothes or a lot of things with that money.

We're all about Netflix in our house, Hulu to a lesser extent. I've had Amazon Prime for a while now (I'm at work and/or school from 7:30am-6pm, and I don't like shopping enough to trek out to the store in my free time) and its new streaming selection has been a pleasant surprise. They have more PBS shows than Netflix - my 4-year-old and I have been making our way through Mr. Rogers (or, as she calls him, "Mr. Neighborhood Guy" ). They also have just about all of the Frontline episodes ^_^
We'll stream them through our PS3 or Roku.
There're also free TED and Khan Academy channels available via the Roku.

Otherwise, I'll hook my laptop up to the TV and stream PBS, etc.

Cable's just not worth it to me.
I end-up paying too much for a bunch of stuff I don't want to watch - and even more stuff I don't want my kids watching.
