Nah, it's not that bad.
I read The Hobbit to the girls until they fell asleep. The cats hung out with me for a bit ( )...

...I've gotten pretty used to having the guy around, though <3

I've actually been quite independent in the past (well, the past few years, anyway) - I could totally (more than deal) when my first husband was gone. Training, deployment, didn't matter - I didn't miss him like this. I'm a bit adrift when my Gem(ini)'s gone for a few days. And I've got to say that I often enjoyed being a single Mom.

Trouble getting to sleep on your end, or just a night owl?

Me?
No not a night owl.
I appear to be up at all hours because I rarely sleep more than an hour straight through(without meds)
due to pain and spasms and also the form of Narcolepsy with rapid REM.
Normal REM takes about 90 minutes.
I go into full REM within seconds upon falling asleep, and on some EEGs showed REM whilst not quite asleep.
Most likely that does help me be able to trance easily though, but messes up normal sleep needed for this body.
So I catch the ZZZzzzzzzzzzssss whenever my body lets up on the spasms and pain enough to allow me to actually full body relax sleep.
On that note going to try to get some more ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzs.
It is night so can take Benedryll to help sleep early enough it will not zone me out during the day.
Well sweet dreams to you mockingbird when you can sleep.{{{hugs}}}
Sweet reading The Hobbit to your girls.
And cats are such a joy!
Nighty night!
