So I was selected to move on to phase two in the interviewing process. They liked me enough today, to invite me back, in a few short days and see how I do intergrating into the classroom. They want me to plan an activity. No prob. But they want me to do it in 15-20 minutes. That is the tricky part, I need to make good practical use of that time (maybe there is some leeway but I do not want to push it). Any ideas, in regards to short, neat activities (most likely activity, singular) I could try to really knock this out of the ball park, so to speak, in regards to interview part two?

Thanks guys.

During a children's summer reading program a librarian read Harry Potter and then had the children (some as young as 4) make wizard hats, and it was very popular (though some Christian parents and a library board member disliked Harry Potter and the activity). IIRC, that took about 15-20 minutes for the youngest kids.

I think at that age they might prefer working with playdoh or building blocks instead (making it relevant to a story), or even better something with rhyming words, nonsense words, or anything where they get to move their body (they have so much energy at that age).

Silly songs/sing alongs and finger play games go over well with 4 year olds.
Anything that involves talking, singing, movement.

from the link:

One afternoon a week we would play freeze dance with the stereo scanning for radio stations.

This was fun to see what the kids would do with different types of music. From heavy metal head banging to classical ballet spins. It was a hoot. The kids would try out different things that they saw their friends doing. And there was always one little ‘couple’ in the corner dancing together.

They love water, sand, containers, like plastic containers. They love to put things in the containers and take them out. They love stickers. I had a wonderful book that save my life when my children were young. It had hundreds of activities in it.

Will try to think of it.
Carl, please come to PR and write about your unaspected Mercury. I am gonna start a thread for you. We have another unaspected mercury---Gill.

My father is one, or almost. He has the traits.

Anyway, I would love to learn more about it, if you care, to, Sweetie.

Yahhh I got it!! The teachers observing loved my idea, said it was cute, different from most.

I am 50% celebrating/50% - be calm until it is 100% official (aka all paper work is turned in and all that "stuff" is complete so not time to celebrate yet)..haha, I can never just enjoy the moment, but rather, gotta do the paperwork (typically required of new employees) before I can jump up and down type mood!
