This is a show that a lot of people seem to like, but I've never seen it. I'll have to check it out.IP: Logged |

I live for that show. I even watch episodes a third time, and I don't do that for ANY other show. The casting is terrific. The jokes are hysterical. Sheldon is a piece of work, and so is Raj. My seven year old watches with us, and he now imitates Sheldon's little laugh. I think it goes down in history as one of the best sitcoms, along with Everybody Loves Raymond and Seinfeld. MEEE TOOO!!! I LOVE the show now!! I like it because it's about geeks (and I'm somewhat of a geek myself), and Sheldon is my favorite character. IP: Logged |

I think the characters suit their signs other than SHELDON. Seriously! Taurus?????!!!!!!! NO WAYYYY Taurus is so physical and earthy and *into* sexual things. He has Aquarius/Gemini written all over him. Actually there is a guy in my class just like him who is a Leo with Aquarius Moon and Gemini Mars. He looks and behaves exactly like Sheldon. I used to call him Wall-E before I started watching The Big Bang. Then I realised he was more like Sheldon! And the funniest thing is - later, I saw a Big Bang episode where Penny likens Sheldon to Wall-E LMAO IP: Logged |

Speaking as a major geek myself, I dislike the show, the stereotyping is just far to heavy handed and cliché, yet typical of American sitcoms...Fail imo... ------------------ Proud Member of the Vatican Assassin Warlock Attack Squad! You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;} IP: Logged |

Well they got the geeks I know - pretty much pegged!Actually the reason I do like it is because each of the characters have entirely different personalities and life stories.. but they are all so -real-. There are actual guys out there who can relate very much to them - I think that's why the show is successful. The female characters are not as well defined as they could be though.. but that seems to be improving. It is definitely less cliche than other sit coms out there.. which I think is a good thing!! Some of the things in their plot are SO accurate - that I'm sure they must've done their research. For instance the way Raj's Indian parents behave towards him --- that is SOOOO much like the real life Indian parents of one of my friends. That's why the plot makes me laugh... because it reminds me of actual situations in my life and my friends' lives. So it can't be that cliche! Or maybe it is cliche in a very *realistic* way. I agree. There might be a hint of Virgo in there as well; so neurotic, (not saying Virgos are neurotic per se though); needing to have an order; panic of mess or chaos; and despite being lacking in this regard, wanting to understand social conventions and adapting to it to a degree (like buying birthday present, not because he wants to, but because it is what one "should" do, though he wasn`t aware of that before). RP, I totally agree with your analysis. I see Taurus. Aquarians are too interested in humanity, Sheldon has such a disdain for anything psychological or non-tangible. IP: Logged |

I love it more than peanut butter, (mind you not really that fond of peanut butter to be silky honest) CERIDWEN! A question for you, are you perhaps a certain Ceridwen who lives in Tofino on a floating house? Well maybe you are, or, maybe you aren't. I do greatly enjoy TBBT, I also like very much watching Grimm and the Mentalist. IP: Logged |

Sheldon is my fave character. I wouldn't really watch it if it weren't for him. He's so quirky. ------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.
