I was thinking about the most successful people I know today, and I realized something surprising...they all serve others in some way. It got me to thinking that we are all here to give service to others and are only truly happy when providing something valuable to others and in doing so to feel valued. The greatest leaders are also servants.

Man Randall
I just thinking about LL and how it has grown. It is because you employ Biblical principles. The Bible is all about service. When a person forgets about themselves and gives, God blesses them way beyond what they could get by keeping everything to themselves for fear of not having enough.

One of my Bible teachers says that God is El Shaddai(God of plenty) not El Cheapo

Servanthood

El Shaddai, el shaddai
El-elyon na adonia
Age to age you're still the same
By the power of the name
El shaddai, el shaddai
Erkamka na adonai
I will praise and lift you high
El shaddai

Through your love and through the ram
You saved the son of Abraham
Through the power of your hand
You turned the sea into dry land
To the outcast on her knees
You were the God who really sees
And by your might
You set your children free

Through the years you've made it clear
That the time of Christ was near
Though the people couldn't see
What Messiah ought to be
Your most awesome work was done
Through the frailty of your son
I will praise and lift you high
El shaddai

I agree, life should be about service...

An old Pisces flame once told me that I need not go to church, cause I tithe every Sunday at work....

Really put some things in perspective for me, and really makes my job easier....

gread post, Randall~

Thanks, Hip! It kind of makes you look in a different light at those who dedicate the majority of their lives to service--like ambulance and emergency care personnel, teachers, police officers, and firefighters. They definitely don't do it for the money. Not everyone can be a Mother Teresa, but we can all serve in some capacity. Most would agree that Jesus was a leader, yet He washed the feet of His disciples. Nothing quite like teaching by example! And a special thanks to those in the aforementioned careers. I, for one, am very grateful for the scarifices you make.

If I had a place.

You would get access to what all other houses(or something better than that) there provided as service to others, You must bring something that alleviates a problem, eliminates a suffering or teaches in order to stay.

I would name it,

Liquescens Olla
(Melting Pot)

http://translate.google.com/?hl=en&tab=wT#en|la|Melting%20Pot%0A%0ALocation%20name

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melting_pot

The melting pot is a metaphor for a heterogeneous society becoming more homogeneous, the different elements "melting together" into a harmonious whole with a common culture. It is particularly used to describe the assimilation of immigrants to the United States; the melting-together metaphor was in use by the 1780s.

The Fire = Aries,Leo,Sag.
The Metal Pot = Taurus,Virgo,Cap.
Water Vapor = Cancer,Scorpio,Pis.
The People = Gemini,Libra,Aqua.

One thing I find about Servant Leadership is that you cannot out give God. Today, a girl wrote the most beautiful note on my FB page. I had helped her with Deja and the moon and BPD with which she suffered. She made my day with her kind words. If you give to others, God will give back to you so that you never have to worry if other people will. It is the opposite of bondage. It is the ultimate in freedom ime.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Servant_leadership

Servant leadership is a philosophy and practice of leadership, coined and defined by Robert K. Greenleaf (1904–1990) and supported by many other leadership and management writers. Servant-leaders achieve results for their organizations by giving priority attention to the needs of their colleagues and those they serve. Servant-leaders are often seen as humble stewards of their organization's resources: human, financial and physical.

there is 'nothing new' about this concept here. I've known this since birth. It's not just leaders either. It could just be someone you meet in the street - have a conversation like Ami said and thereby 'being of service'

I just think it's inbred in all of us, it's what makes the world go around..

I think it is the key to happiness as the Bible says. It is more blessed(which means happy) to give than to receive.

Isnt' this what every mother teaches her child...

I prefer to view this as a *natural universal Law* as the Godspark is within us ALL. We don't need to look outside of ourselves to be validated on ANY level...

for anyone that doesn't recognise this pic, it's the *healing caduceus*

Well, variety is the spice of life isn't it? It would be a very boring place if we were all clones...
